I wish I could record that but it’s super difficult to get a camera in that location. All you’d see is my hands. I have some helpful tips on how to do the rear ones but it just wouldn’t make a good video. They are super similar to the front though!

I’m sure they do! I’ve thought about doing a colored coil packs but I just normally get the normal black ones.

Use anti seize on spark plug threads and dielecteic grease on plug covers.

Definitely an option! I’ve done that many times before. Service manual does not call for it (probably too many issues with people doing it wrong or putting too much on). Thanks for the comment and for watching

It's the rear spark plugs that people actually need help with. For starters, how do you remove those doubled black clip-ons that are in the way of hand positioning?

@@igl9273 i couldn't find anything on how to get rid of those black things. It looks so simple to take them apart, but I simply can't figure out how to do it. So of course I'm just working around them, jamming my wrist up against them. On Monday I'm planning on buying the VCM Tuner II. It is supposed to permanently disable the VCM activation. I hope that will take care of the spark plug fouling and the coil dying. It's $140 but I expect it'll be more than worth it.

Shooting a video of the back is nearly impossible. I tried it on my Ridgeline (same engine) and it didn't come out well. This is even a tighter location which makes it even more complicated.

You don't remove the strip on top of the engine. The spark plugs are just behind them. Almost impossible to see but you can easily reach a hand in and feel them. They are a pain but definitely reachable without taking anything else apart.

Great video. How hard were the back ones to do? I know its hard to show on the camera due to the angle.

Thanks so much for watching and commenting. The back ones were harder. One of the sides was the most difficult, I believe it the was the left side. A little maneuvering and you can do it. There’s also a hose on the top that can be removed for easier access on one of the spark plugs.

Thank you for explaining. My don't have problems to start but the needle start dancing at 1500 rpm and the car is kind of jerking? What do you think the problem is?

That can be caused by a lot of issues. I’d first check to see if there are any codes it’s popping up with a scan tool (or do a place that will do it for free). Then depending on that, fix any issues. If none, I’d check for leaks in vacuum hoses. How old/miles are your spark plugs? Coil packs? Have you cleaned the throttle body & I think they have a mass air flow that can be cleaned? Also how many miles does it have? I haven’t had this vehicle in about 2 years and I’m trying to remember all of its components that could cause this.

Like your wrist band, brother! Be good to use antiseize on spark plug threads to keep from stripping out threads in heads.

Yes, I've done that in the past, but Honda does not recommend that. I know it can mess up torque specs. But it does make it easier if you live in the north in the rust belt. Thanks for noticing the wrist band :D
