I appreciate you listing the required tools at the beginning, as well as showing the process. This allowed me to repair the #2 cylinder (firewall-facing, center) misfire condition, that showed up suddenly on our road-trip, in the shade in front of an AutoZone (thanks to them diagnosing the issue as well as allowing me to borrow their tools) and complete the 750-mile journey home! Since this happened on New Year’s Day 2022 with everything closed, being able to fix it myself using your instructions saved me a ton of money. 👍

Tip for the back, when removing the clip press the connector down and into the coil connection and you will hear the click and the connector comes loose a lot easier.

Always put a small dab of 'never-seaze' on the spark plug threads, more important on alumimun head engines, if you have compress air avalable, blow out around the base or the spark plug before removing it.
@nw13023 жыл бұрын
From the NGK (OEM spark plug manufacturer) website: "NGK spark plugs feature trivalent plating. This silver or chrome-colored finish on the threads is designed to provide corrosion resistance against moisture and chemicals. The coating also acts as a release agent during spark plug removal. NGK spark plugs are installed at the factory dry, without lubrication or anti-seize. Anti-seize can act as a lubricant, altering torque values up to 20 percent, increasing the risk of spark plug thread breakage and/or metal shell stretch. Thread breakage can sometimes involve removing the cylinder head for repair. Metal shell stretch changes the heat rating of the spark plug and can result in serious engine damage caused by pre-ignition. Do not use anti-seize or lubricant on NGK spark plugs. It is completely unnecessary and can be detrimental."

@@First_Class_Amateur Thanks a lot! I wanted to check if they're still good because my honda odyssey 2011 started shaking while I was driving. Wife said spark plugs were changed last year. However, I don't know how to check if sparkplugs are still in good condition or not.

@@neilfpv a Google search will show you pictures of what bad spark plugs look like. If one of your pistons is not firing your check engine light should be on. How do you remove those rear doubled black clip-ons that are in the way of hand positioning?
@jbgisser9512 ай бұрын
I just did this today. Found it much easier to change the sequence a bit. First remove the nut for the coil, pull the coil out a couple inches and then you can easily pinch the wiring clasp and remove the connection. Hurt my fingers a lot before doing this, so I hope it helps someone.
@davegaetano71182 ай бұрын
@@jbgisser951 i'm hoping my days of playing with any of the coils in spark plugs on this engine are over. About 6 months ago I installed the VCMTUNER II, and it is far away the best thing I have ever done for that car. This thing actually works. The Eco light does not come on anymore, and I've had no problems with spark plugs fouling or coils dying. Can't recommend it too much.
