I'm about to fit a new cable but I need to have this music playing to ensure that it goes well

The key bit of missing info: You need to clip each spring pulley to the little pressed retaining brackets at each end of the spring box. This pretensions the springs and keeps the cables slack for reattachment. Then it's simply a case of taking up the slack and a little more to pull each spring away from its retaining bracket. It may be easier to remove the spring box from the wall to reset the springs 'cause they are tough going!

@@fantasyproduct1042 Just a pressed metal tab at each end of the box. I still needed to take the whole unit off the wall and call on an extra pair of hands to do mine!

Thanks for trying but WHAT a disappointment. Not enough close ups, no vocal help. It's churlish to criticise as I haven't done any better but if you're going to then do it in a helpful way...time consuming I know! I'm 78 but fortunately a retired Design Engineer so will have to do my own problem solving again! :) NoAxe
