I love you two. I spent all day yesterday trying to replace the struts on my Pilote. In desperation I looked at youtube and hey presto there was your video. Very little access on the Pilote when the bed is up, but I used a long woodworking clamp to compress the strut by the half-inch needed and it slid on easily. I owe you a beer if you are ever down in the Charente-Maritime with your camper. Thanks Guys.

A real Hymer problem with the bed solved, good job. Its anoying that the springs not work ok, and you have to make strange sounds in the morning when we do the bed UP again. Lets see where I can buy these here in Holland. Thanks for this tip-top-video 👍😁

Dear friend, Waching your video i saw a big problem that HERMAN has up on the left side.I have a TABBERT FFB 570 and i had the same problem.The left side is totaly damaged because of the watter.You can see that from the rust on metal parts of the bed.A big bravo to your Mechanic,he is real good. @@HermanHitstheRoad Dear friend, Good evening.If you wach carefully you will see at 7.30 minute of the video that the metal base of the bed at the left side and the screwes are rusty.That means that the wall has big moistire problem.You must fix it as soon as possible to prevent biger problems.I replaced both walls so you can imagine the cost....... By the way in case you do not know your wife's name ''ZOI'' in Greek language means life. Good night my friend.

Hi there. I went to take my struts out and one was in the way you put your one in. But The other one was the opposite way in??? Would that be for one to assist with putting the bed down, and the other one, that is the opposite way in is to assist with putting the bed back up?????

Hi Peter, it sounds like someone has put one around the wrong way. Being the wrong way round I don't think you'll be able to put the clips on or the split pin in. I might be wrong though

Hi Ads Zoe and Chas. About a couple of years ago I checked the bolt torque used for the bed fixings. If you had done your video sooner I could have saved myself some traumas when moving the bed up and down on our B584. Your video clearly shows it becomes an effortless task with good condition struts ! Guess what, after checking the code on the existing struts, order placed ! Having watched your video it makes me realise that our bed is similar, in hard to pull up and makes a lot of noise too, Ours does stay put roughly where you stop moving it. So not as far gone, but very likely on its way out. Sadly SGS Engineering don't seem to cover Rapidos, but I wouldn't be surprised if one of the struts that they do stock would match what we have on our bed.

Hi, CromaticFilms. I don't know what the weight limit of the bed is. It should say in the motorhome user guide. It appears 4 bolts connect the bed frame to the motorhome frame work.

I had some water infiltration from the window and i was wondering if the water cand affect the framework inside the wall. I don t want to fall with the bed :)) also is moving when im climbing up there and doesn t look so stabile.

I think the framework is steel. I don't think aluminium would be strong enough. The beds do sway from side to side a little.
