@HermanHitstheRoad I'm going to buy a fiat camper Ducato 1992 CAMPER PILOTE R590 , and used to work as a driver with the ducato 130 2.3 turbo diesel 2015 When it's come to diesel, many drivers bring the engine and transmission to the limit of collapse, for my opinion this is the most stressful load on mechanics...

Hi, I’ve watched a fe of your videos all nice & slow very easy to make sense of , how ever this one is different - when you went to all the trouble of dismantling & exploring the problem with the gas supply to the fridge , then seeing how corroded the assembly was - at this point all parts should of been cleaned to bright metal before reassembly , the thermocouple relies on a good strong earth contact as only a tiny voltage is produced when heated that holds the gas valve open - replacing the support wire was necessary - i think that you were lucky that it stayed on with all that rust. Ed,

You can make small engine mufflers of high flow and efficiency by making the same type of spiral the length of the muffler with the edges of the spiral tight against the outer skin of the muffler...forcing the gases and noise to swirl and collide along the length of the pipe...

I see you have same fridge as mine. My fridge is getting rusty just like yours so a planned future job is to clean rust off the pipes and coat in good two pack epoxy paint. Think you should consider doing same before you end up with pin holes and fridge becomes kaput.

I was only saying to the Wife that we may need to get the Nessa in for a Service, as I haven't had her checked since we have owned her. Only the vehicle services have been carried out. If you tackle the Truma Boiler that will be handy too, and would save a few quid. As your Boiler is most likely the same as our with them being about 4 years apart in age, and having the same controls. As for Welding rod the one you would need ae TIG Welding Rods, the ones you showed from Halfords is the good old ARC Welding Rod, which you could use at a push once the coating has been removed, would no how long it would last compared to a Stainless Steel TIG rod. I have serviced the Hob which is the same as Hermans, as ours got very rusty. Pity the screws for the plate are are so expensive for them from Caravan shops. I have been meaning to size them for years to get the correct length and thread pitch and save a lot of money, as they tend to corrode through. I have two spare in a screwdriver case.

I'm interested in the hob screws, @Simon_W74. Do you mean the one the is in the center of the hob? I probably need to clean ours too

Is your fridge the Dometic one with the little circular window inside? It would be near the bottom left inside and about a centimetre in diameter. If so, you should be able to see the flame through it when it's alight.

I always enjoy your travel vlogs and also the repair vids keeping Herman on the road. I think unfortunately you may need to start saving up for a new fridge soon as the refrigeration line looks quite corroded and fragile. Also anytime you disturb a gas union you ideally should check for leaks on reassembly with soapy water or a leak detector. Stainless tig welding wire from a welding fabricator may be another place to source the suspension wire. Happy travels 👍

Ads I had a leak on the side window that you pointed at , actually the frame had split 😢, using tiger seal once out I was able to repair but to get out I had to remove the presses above to get access to the blind to get access to the window 😂 so make sure you have an extra pair of hands to hold the presses above the window they are heavy
@HermanHitstheRoad7 күн бұрын
Interesting, @drexelspivey6472. I'll just need to remove window "glass". I assumed to remove the glass I just need to take the stays off and lift it up beyond 90 degrees. Do you have a similar window/motorhome? Did you have to take the blind off to remove the window?

Especially if the "mix" has a higher percentage of butane in the so called propane... Refilling LPG tanks in cars especially in winter before basically running the whole tank low means the propane is "boiling off" earlier and being consumed before the butane... Keep refilling partial tanks and you get to a situation where the butane predominates, makes the car hard to start....and the tank needs to be drained of butane....

@HermanHitstheRoad10 күн бұрын
I like the idea of opening the lockers, @qwertysds but you want to be careful that you're not putting too much stress on the hinge springs and weakening them. I'm not sure how bubble wrap stops the sunlight. Something with UV protection would be better or close the blinds - but again about the springs in the blinds.
