We were ran into an issue with one of the screw heads on the cover being worn down and no Phillipshead entry point on top. We try various wrench sizes and pliers with no success. We gonna buy a specific tool to get that last blot off. 😮

On my 2006 the air filter cover bolts seized like some one dipped them in acid . One actually broke off inside the metal insert molded into the plastic bottom. I apprenticed in the auto trade years ago , so I"m not a hack ,( SO BE WARNED THESE BOLTS ARE HARD TO GET OUT!), at least on mine All but 2 were seized !Never encountered this before...Great photography on the video , I can actually see exactly what you are doing !

Jim, how do you know the arrows point down?bit doesn't say "air flow" next to the arrow and some brand filters have arrows that say "up" next to the arrow. Are there instructions that come with the new Filters that explain this? At least this one is made in Poland instead of China. That's a plus.

Hey Jim I was reading on a bmw/Mercedes forums website. Most of the people on there said smaller independent shops have a hard time repairing newer makes of those cars especially the electronics. They advised only dealerships or a independent who specializes in only European models. Does that sound right at all? I figured most independents these days have invested in the technology to be able to diagnose and repair even newer model luxury cars. Thank you

My 2006 CRV had Phillips head screws instead of bolts holding the air cleaner housing on and man were they tight. Couldn't budge the 2 back screws, Tried penetrating oil for a few days but still no go. Had to use an impact driver with a Phillips bit to get the back screws loose before they stripped. I suspected I was the 1st person to ever change that filter and I was right. It was disgusting.

Well Jim,I guess they must've saw me coming.i had a couple different places do a couple things for my car,and later night I stopped at a light a town over and my car wouldn't move.the engine ran,but no movement.as I shifted the gears I could hear them grinding. I hope someone drained my trans fluid to make me think I need more repairs since these are the same people who gave me the laundry list for over 1,700.00 and another mechanic told me I didn't need anything but 2 hubs and a control arm for 340.00.what do you think, try the trans fluid or call the second guy in who is definitely more honest?

Good video Jim, thanks. Question; how come the inside of the filter box wasn't vacuumed out or wiped clean with a damp cloth. I thought that the "box effect" collected the larger particles, i.e. small leaves etc.? Doesn't it get a dirt film build up? Just wondering....
