The best thing about this video is that it convinced me to take my snowblower to the shop.

Awesome video, replaced my auger belt yesterday, works perfectly, throwing snow 20 feet away. Imagine shoveling 2 feet deep of snow for 2 - 2 wide driveways

Nice work! It's amazing what a new belt does on these things, right?
@6slingr4662 жыл бұрын
Great video! And timely! Two recommendations - 1) good illumination (a utility light) is helpful when attempting to align the new belt onto the lower pulley and 2), stuff an old rag under the upper pulley when removing/reattaching the guard to minimize the chance of dropping a bolt or washer into the blower.
@Sharkie6262 жыл бұрын
Yeah lighting was tough, this was the best it could be as I work during the day and the evening was the only time I had. Nice thought for the rag though! That definitely didn't cross my mind.

Great video Sharkie. You didn't even need to split the unit like a lot of other brands require. Toro is the way to go. I'm gonna check my belt health in a month or two when I service the unit in the off season. All the best.

I LOVE HOW THEY CHANGE THIS WITH THE NEW MODELS.. The new models the brake thing that you keep taking out is actually underneath so much easier.. You don't have to take it out at all.. just have to take the spring out underneath which is very easy. You could take both belt off with just taking springs off each the auger, and the drive Real simple. A lot of people like to try to fidget with it and push it through and stuff like that.. What I do is I always take the bottom off I push it through then I tip it upside down on the front So I can get underneath and make sure everything is on correctly.. May seem more difficult but it's actually easier.. Toro is always improving

That was fairly straightforward. Always nice to be able to do it indoors like that, on a day where there's not 47 feet of snow out there, and it didn't just break on you, and you don't have the whole rest of the property to finish cleaning up. When that happens, the job is nowhere near as fun or straightforward. I guess you noticed last time you used it that it wasn't really engaging well. That belt was most certainly stretched, and I suppose it's going to be getting a very good test on the new one very soon.
@Sharkie6262 жыл бұрын
Only the best conditions in Connecticut hun! It very much did work out. I was actually clearing away some stuff that was a little slushy a couple of weeks ago, and towards the end, the auger literally just stopped going. I pushed on the handle again for a short time and only slight engine RPM change instead of near-stalling. I knew right away it was a belt problem. Luckily there was not too much left so I put the snow blower in, and got the rest off the old fashioned way. So glad we don't have a driveway as large as we used to. Immediately called a place that I know carries these parts, gave them the brand, model and serial number, and the part I was looking for and he said "Oh yeah we got plenty of them!" Perfect.

@@Sharkie626 Might look into replacing that missing bolt. Depot probably would carry them. And if I must critique, I think those bolts for the cover could use just a tickle more torque. A loose bolt will rattle out. Just a tiny bit more might be all they need. Another option would be to find some rubber washers that fit under the head of the bolt, and that will give a cushion to the plastic and also allow them to be installed a bit tighter.

Hi, I have Toro powermax 824 OE. Could you please show me how to replace Auger blades and Auger gearbox oil. Thanks
@jonathanbelk97678 ай бұрын
I found that you don't need to remove the bracket. Either you or someone else can depress the auger handle. These allows you to sneak the belt around the bottom pulley without the hastle of removing that piece. I had that belt swapped out and the blower back running in less than five minutes.
@Sharkie6268 ай бұрын
You sure? Many videos I watched involved removing the bracket. And believe me, I looked as hard as I could to see if I could do without it, and it did not seem such.

I realize that this video is from 2022 and it was a good video, but I was wondering if you could create a drive belt replacement video as opposed to the auger belt replacement which this video covered? I recently purchased a Toro 826 Power Max and am just curious how it is done. Also, are the auger and the drive belts actually two different belts or are they the same belt?
@Sharkie6269 ай бұрын
I might actually be replacing that belt soon, we'll see how it goes. Both belts are different I believe.

Great video! I have a Powermax 826 OXE that I need to replace the auger belt on. This video will make that process a LOT smoother! Thank you! I have a question though. According to Toro's parts website, the part number for the auger belt is 120-3892. Why would they have a different part number listed on their website than what is in the machine? Just want to make sure I buy the right part. Thanks!

Thanks for watching! That belt number might be for the wheel drive. Is it a toothed belt? I know mine is for that.

It sounds like the auger mechanism on my 826 is jammed/frozen. When I push the handle to engage the auger, the motor bogs down and wants to quit. Thoughts?
