In this video I installed New CV Axles on my 2016 Can-am Maverick Max XDS. I broke my Passenger side axle so I just replaced both. This is a how to video on what you need to do to swap them out.

Nathen Holmes can you explain how to change the rear Drive shaft in a 17 can am maverick xmr 1000

I have never had to do mine but the way I would do it is. Drop your skid plate and maybe some console side panels off. Thanremove the C-Clips and beat the caps out. Smack the beefy part of the yoke were it meets the shaft and the hoing caps should pop out. Use a rubber mallet or hammer if they dont want to come out. Do the same for both sides. Clean everything up for an easy install. Than just reinstall by placing the driveshaft in and than your ujoint caps in making sure all your bearings inside are in place. They come Greased. Than pop the C-Clips. Hopefully this helps you. If I ever have this problem I will make sure to make a video. Just went riding with someone this past weekend who busted the front driveshaft.

Nathen Holmes thanks I’ll try that. I bought this machine 2 and a half years ago and this is th first thing I’ve broke one it. I feel like that’s pretty good for mudding Iike I do and hitting atv/utv bounty holes at the local mudd park

I'm not 100% sure what you mean by that. If the seal is toast they pop in and or out. I have had to replace the passenger one. I just grabbed a socket the size of the seal and tapped it in. Hopefully that helps you.

No. Mine was giving me issues so I had got this one as a spare when mine crapped out. Still hasnt crapped out though.

Just bought the same model. Axle isn’t broke but has a junk c clamp on it so replacing it with a 6 ball racing axle. This video will help a lot!

Yeah in this video I put stock in.i ended up breaking it again 2 months later and put in after market.

@@nwags357 I used a heavy duty Demon axle. And if you haven't had any issues with leaks or anything and no noticeable chunks missing from the seals I think you fine not replacing the seal.

Wrap a strap around the end of the axle and wrap around a sledge hammer and swing the hammer. Should come out by doing that

I had one break off inside before and what I find the easiest is to pull the other cv axle out and tap it out from the other side. Better than messing around. I used a very long but small diameter screw driver and tapped it out. Popped out easy.

No Torque specs. Also there is a proper way that compression washer is suppose to be installed. You just threw it on without checking for having the convex side facing out.

They are in the video.. and as well this is off the Demon Website on installation Installation: Inspect Axles to ensure there is no damage before installing Remove Castle Nut Apply a small amount of grease to help slide the splines and clip Insert outer CV into trailing Arm / A-Arm Hold CV Joint Housing Only [Holding the boot may cause damage] Push the inner CV housing into the differential until you can hear the retaining clip snapping into its groove Try to pull the inner joint with some force to make sure circlip is engaged so the joint cannot be pulled out easily Fasten the hub to factory torque specifications Insert Cotter Pin Re-assemble all components
