Thanks so much for taking the time to put together this video. Lighting was perfect, voice was clear and easy to understand too. You know, it's videos like this one, that is solely responsible for giving people the confidence to do easy peasy repairs/upgrades to ones laptops and electronics. I have personally built 4 PC's from scratch, installed software, and keep our home network up and running. But to be honest, when it comes to doing any work on laptops, I have always tended to shy away from them. I guess probably because of the closed in area of the unit, and well, never had to do any work on one before. I "inherited" my wife's 2009 macbook Pro 13". She stopped using it because it had slowed down so badly she stopped using it. She bought a new windows laptop, so I gladly took ownership of the MBP. I started watching youtube vids on upgrading them and saw how easy it is to upgrade the hdd and the ram. . . W O W what a speed improvement ! ! ! Anyway, I started searching for videos on battery upgrades and saw yours. Hi i bought a battery on eBay for 13' mac-book pro mid 2009 . I did follow the steps in this video ..still if shutdown the mac and wouldn't start unless i plug the main power the magnet... but once its start you can remove the power cable form the main , its work until battery discharge ...Need a Help

Thanks for a great video! Question: I fully charged my newly installed battery and have begun depleting it. I am somewhat shocked to see only "2:12 Remaining (2 hours, 12 minutes). Maybe this is because we disabled all the power-saving features though (?). What ballpark figure should I expect to see here for this first full depletion?

I just replaced my mid 2009 MacBook Pros hard drive and started using it again for little things. It has been sitting doing nothing for 3 years before this. I notice the battery is not strong at all but it only had 146 cycles on it. It says it's in good condition according to the menu bar and coconuts battery. After years of inactivity, moving from mountain lion to El Capitan should I calibrate it anyway?
