How to replace the battery in Hisense Sero Pro tablet

I got in touch with Hisense in the UK feeling sorry about my dead battery and they sent me one for free. Very nice of them!!

Helpful video, thank you! Couple suggestions for other viewers: using a small suction cup (similar to what you would use to open an iPhone), and one of those small blue plastic edging tools makes getting the back case off much quicker. If you have long fingernails, that helps as well. FYI, I have been unable to find a new battery for this tablet, and I looked a good bit. I was able to find a used battery on eBay, but not consistently. I believe some folks offer a recharging service where you send them your old tablet battery and they put it through a a professional recharging process which can bring some batteries back to life (there is currently a posting on eBay for this services for this battery). I haven't tried one of those yet, but considering this battery doesn't appear to be offered new anywhere (that I can find at least), it might not be a bad last resort option if for some reason you are having trouble finding a used one. If anyone knows where you can get a new battery for this, please chime in! Also, has anyone had any luck fixing or replacing the micro usb chargin port on this tablet? I noticed the charging cable has to be pushed slightly upwards on mine now, which is a slight bummer, but at least it still chargers for now.

I could not find the battery on sale anywhere, so contacted Hisense in the UK and they were amazingly helpful. As I said in a post below they offered to replace it themselves for free but I took a chance asking them to send me a battery and managed to replace it myself.

Thanks for the video. I'm gonna bookmark it as I see my son's tablet battery degrading and feel like I'll need to do a swap as well. Any ideas if the battery can be ordered from somewhere else? BTW can you post a picture of it, or the old one?

Unfortunately I do not have a photo of the battery as I am abroad and I don't want to open the tablet again to photograph the battery. You can probably pause the video where I am replacing the battery and take a snapshot. Best of luck.

Some questions. Did the credit card damage the finish at all? How old was your Sero 7's battery that needed replacing? Was it difficult to find a replacement? Cost? Could you find a higher capacity replacement? I have a Sero 8 and find its battery remarkably long lasting.

The credit card did no damage at all. I did thin out the card a bit by sanding both sides of a corner. The tablet was just over a year old. I contacted Hisense and they were very helpful. They offered to replace the battery themselves FOR FREE but I asked them to send me a battery instead which they did...again for free. I was most impressed with them. I cannot tell you if that is what they always do or whether they were just being kind to me. They did say it was most unusual for the battery to fail so perhaps I was just unlucky.

Just talked to Hisense. They won't/can't sell me a new battery. Told me to throw the tablet away and buy a new one. Wish I knew what the serial number is for the battery.

Mine is stuck to the tablet ,its glued I tried to pry it off but I accidentally poked it and smoke came out ,

Thank you for your comments. I did contact Hisense in England via email and the guy who replied was extremely helpful. He offered to replace the battery for free if I returned the tablet to them, but I asked him to send me a new battery instead which he did at no cost. I thought I would have ago at replacing it myself, which is what I did.

Gybran Hernandez Certainly worth a try. I would contact Hisense first. They may agree to replace it for you or send you a battery.

I looked on ebay in both UK and US. No luck. There are some used Sero pros on sale. Might be the only way to get a battery.
