It's pretty obvious why they make the batteries non-removeable. If you think about it. Its all about that sweet sweet revenue. It forces you to buy a new phone once your dated lithium -ion battery dies on you. It's something known as "built in obsolescence.
@capcom235 жыл бұрын
Exactly. They are forcing up to rebuy each year or 2 a new phone. I have Samsung S7... almost 3 year in my possession and the battery needs now charge each day. And I hardly use my phone. Not even a few games... just checking my email sometimes facebook and that's it. Now i'm forced to charge each day and i'm like... i haven't used that intensive at all. This is just a cheap trick to scare people off so they won't go change their battery so they are forced by their new phones. This way get een more money from the customer. Very very smart. But now i'm questioning is it with each phone now like this or just Samsung trick? I might have to change an other brand...

Pretty good video. Hardest part was getting the back off. If you are careful, you can save much of the water-proofing adhesive on the back. A couple suggestions. With phones, computers, cars, anything, they are highly, precisely engineered. If a piece doesn't fit easily, remove it and try again. Do not force a part! The part should fit in easily. When putting screws back in, turn them counterclockwise. They will click into place. You can feel this happen, and often hear it. Then you can turn the screw clockwise to tighten. This will keep you from cross-threading the screw. When you put the three cover parts back on, there are a few more steps than they show. Put the largest piece in first, but don't screw in tightly. That piece needs to interweave with the bottom part. On the left side, one tab on the bottom piece has to go under the larger piece, while one tab must go over the larger piece. On the bottom piece, these is a tab at the bottom that can be snapped into place by pushing on it. On the top piece, the top edge of the middle piece must go under the top piece. Also, I believe a tab on the top part has to go under the frame of the phone. Tighten the screws slightly as you put them in. Then tighten them at various opposite places, like putting a tire on your car. This will avoid one side being tighter than the other or stress put on one side.

After trying without success for a long time to connect the new battery after placing it in its location, I reversed those two steps: connected the new battery, then positioned the battery. Instruction was useful but, why, why, why did you think it was necessary to add that irritating noise to the soundtrack? Normally I would just mute it but on this occasion, if I'd done that I wouldn't have been able to hear what you were saying.

I cracked the glass back, because I didn't know it was glass over plastic. Bought a new back from Amz. other than that all is working well. thanks for the video.

I would NOT, never ever dent the battery as you do. Not that it goes to waste, but it can blow up in your face if it shorts inside.

I had to pop in and say good job on this video. Definitely something I can take on if/when needed. Thanks very much.

This is absolutely rediculous. You need a fucking masters in engineering now days to replace a battery in phones? I was thinking about getting a S7 or Iphone 6, both are the same, it takes a god damn hour to replace ONE FUCKING BATTERY. Give me a phone that does not require so god damn much...
@GAVIN94198 жыл бұрын
Ccortanaa You can replace the battery in a iPhone in 5 min or less if your not a fucking dumbass. The S7 isnt that much harder just have to be gentel with the back glass.

Thankfully I kept my S5 long enough to realise the S7 has no IR. Now it's a remote control and nothing else. Every remote I have has one button that has failed, so it comes in useful.
