@@kevindenis9117 Well, I accidentally nicked the battery about 15 min ago and smelled something. A few seconds later, I saw hissing. I backed the fugg up and saw it light on fire. Next time I'm going to take it to a place, though I have replaced batteries in phones before. Not worth the risk.

I did this exactly & it is not as easy as he shows to get the back off Heated it over a dozen times, broke the suction cup, broke the tips off of guitar pic. Wound up cracking the back all down the glass, in multiple places. Had to order a new back plate. But I did it. Lol. It is an advanced project though.

It's pretty obvious why they make the batteries non-removeable. If you think about it. Its all about that sweet sweet revenue. It forces you to buy a new phone once your dated lithium -ion battery dies on you. It's something known as "built in obsolescence.
@capcom23

Exactly. They are forcing up to rebuy each year or 2 a new phone. I have Samsung S7... almost 3 year in my possession and the battery needs now charge each day. And I hardly use my phone. Not even a few games... just checking my email sometimes facebook and that's it. Now i'm forced to charge each day and i'm like... i haven't used that intensive at all. This is just a cheap trick to scare people off so they won't go change their battery so they are forced by their new phones. This way get een more money from the customer. Very very smart. But now i'm questioning is it with each phone now like this or just Samsung trick? I might have to change an other brand...

They could have easily made the phone just water resistant. My old Galaxy S4 Active (that I had for 3.5 years) could be dunked in 3 feet of water as well, but you could still change the battery and insert a micro sd card. They honestly did a downgrade over the past couple years in that respect.

Number 1 recommendation when you replace the battery is to TEST OUT THAT IT WORKS BEFORE SCREWING the screws on. You can easily not have connect the battery correctly or the battery may be defective. Whatever. Test before SCREWING and frustrating yourself. Turn that bad boy on.

I replace my Samsung Galaxy S7 battery yesterday and the hardest part of course was getting the back cover off. It was fortuitous of me to order a new glass back cover with a pre-installed adhesive. Pretty good video. Hardest part was getting the back off. If you are careful, you can save much of the water-proofing adhesive on the back. A couple suggestions. With phones, computers, cars, anything, they are highly, precisely engineered. If a piece doesn't fit easily, remove it and try again. Do not force a part! The part should fit in easily. When putting screws back in, turn them counterclockwise. They will click into place. You can feel this happen, and often hear it. Then you can turn the screw clockwise to tighten. This will keep you from cross-threading the screw. When you put the three cover parts back on, there are a few more steps than they show. Put the largest piece in first, but don't screw in tightly. That piece needs to interweave with the bottom part. On the left side, one tab on the bottom piece has to go under the larger piece, while one tab must go over the larger piece. On the bottom piece, these is a tab at the bottom that can be snapped into place by pushing on it. On the top piece, the top edge of the middle piece must go under the top piece. Also, I believe a tab on the top part has to go under the frame of the phone. Tighten the screws slightly as you put them in. Then tighten them at various opposite places, like putting a tire on your car. This will avoid one side being tighter than the other or stress put on one side.

I lucked out and the Sticky tape holding the original battery Stayed put so just heated it up a little and pressed new Battery in! Same for the Backing. I heated it first placed it on then used a micro cloth to press down around the outside edges then heated the Back again with it on and Pressed it again. Make sure u watch his whole video 1st as he pulled of some parts in the wrong order but tells u at the end. Good luck. Its Not Difficult so if ur a little mechanically inclined its a breeze. Thank you, the battery issue was the only reason I have been hesitating on upgrading to the S7. Dumb question, S7Edge would be the same to change battery?

If you order the battery make sure you ordered a new bed cover the same time Samsung Galaxy S7 covered only 999 batteries are about $19 and the cover comes with the adhesive already pre-installed all you have to do is remove the adhesive cover plastic to expose the glue on the inside of the back cover. And then when you put the new back cover on after you got the battery changed out you have your Flex cable that comes from the battery in motherboard properly pressed in..... then when you put the new back cover on after removing the edhesive protective plastic make sure you Center the back cover play Gently pushing it down around the camera LED flash and pulse monitor make sure you push that down in that area first then moving your thumbs on each side out to the side then push T he Civ squarely down a long way around the exterior your phone.

If you do this repair and you're not careful and don't heat it up properly you will crack a glass back cover. When I ordered my new battery I ordered a new glass back cover that had the adhesive pre-installed all around the edge the Inside Edge of the back cover. I paid $132 for this phone back in June of this year and this is really a nice phone. Or round am I iPhone 6s and more RAM than my LG Stylo 3 plus.

They have tried it with the first model of samsung Wave on Bada OS which was absolute shit after some time of usage. The begining was nice becouse it was one of the first smartphone generations and it did quite well even with comparision to the first galaxy S model. But as time passed android was getting better and better while Bada and Wave stood still becoming a regular phone with a good camera. I hope samsung won't make another effort trying to build an own OS.

It looks like I won't be getting the Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S8 (when it comes out) because Samsung has decided not to make their batteries removable. I am going to stick with the Galaxy S5 until Samsung decides to change their minds and make their batteries removable. As far as the glass covers goes, they can get rid of that! It's not safe and Samsung knows that. Samsung needs to listen to their customers because the customers is always right. I understand that they are in competition with Apple and all.....but making your batteries not removable and making glass covers is the stupidest decisions that Samsung has ever made!!! They should go back to plastic covers. It's a lot safer than that damn glass covers!!!

Thanks for the video. My S7 battery has started misbehaving recently, perhaps just a monitoring problem (phone claims it goes from 100% to 1% charge in just a few minutes, but it remains usable for hours at 1%), and a relative who is in the phone-repair biz says it's either the battery or the motherboard, and replacing the battery is one way to find out. This video tells me I should NOT try to do it myself. Will see if Best Buy (where I bought the phone) is willing to try it. Might end up buying a new phone, but it wouldn't be an S7 (obviously) and probably not even a Samsung....

He doesn't show himself connecting the battery ribbon cable. To me, this was the trickiest part. I had to use one plastic tool to position it over the connector so it didn't spring done, and another plastic tool to apply force from above. It still didn't have a snap feel or sound, so I had to gently lift the ribbon to be sure it was actually connected and not just sitting on top.
