Those blower motors are sure a pain to remove and replace. My first time replacing one was on my Wife’s 2008 Trailblazer and myself being a bigger guy, it was a difficult operation! Sorry the gasket was giving you issues! A job well done and now I know where this thing is on our 2002 Explorer.

Thank you very much! Saved me $150 on labor! I could not get the air-valve assembly removed. I still was able to remove the blower motor out but that back screw was terrible to get to. I would recommend if you can remove the assembly, do it! Not an easy task for a big guy very tight down under there not very much work space. Thanks again this was very helpful and you saved us from freezing this winter! Great video!

Thank you for your video! My neighbor took out the broken blower motor and I didn't know where the big, black pill looking thing went as I just installed a new blower motor and blower motor resistor in my 2002 Mountaineer. But now I'm finished and it works!

Thanks for the video. Your diagnostics was spot on and you showed that the install was rather simple. It took me just 30 mins from start to finish....system works 100% Thanks TheyMightBeRacing!!

did this today on my 04. ya really gotta maneuver the blower motor around those wire harnesses. I had to pull the harnesses out away from where the fan goes. It will make you feel Dizzy once you're done..lol

I found if you start the screws back it'll also hold the gasket in place. Meaning put the screws in before you install it.

HI,To get really good visual and hand access, go ahead and open the glove box, squeeze the stopping points of the glove box inwards until the glove box pops all the way down. You will be able to see everything, and may be able to access the bolts a little easier. This is best way to get to the resistor, if it needs to be changed for sure!

Oh yeah, just be careful not to break the plastic on the glovebox stopping tabs.

So if it does blow air on all settings, but seems like not enough air comes out, what could be the problem? Thanks for the video.
@obxguy110 жыл бұрын
did you find your problem with the blower motor not blowing? Its your Recirculating Air Door, Its Broken and laying on top of your Blower motor, preventing the air to blow.
@renedelafuente12310 жыл бұрын
Na, I had a friend that is more mechanically inclined than me, and said that it was blowing pretty good. I guess I just wanted more out of it like my new Nissan Frontier. Anyway, thanks for the video and keepem coming.

Tony Garza Yeah, this is my first ford explorer. I'm not really happy about the power of the blower motor. 1, 2, &3 are pretty lame, 4 is too loud. but at least it works.

I have the same vehicle but there is a littel red t shaped plastic piece and I do not know what it is spposed to plug into but air is coming from it and the noise is driving me crazy
@timothysimonbirdsall18283 жыл бұрын
That plastic T piece is supposed to plug into the end of the pill-shaped valve. That's a vacuum hose that you're hearing.
