I just replaced this- 92 wagon had 2” driveshaft. Removal of the rear bolts on the diff was easy with 15 and 17mm wrenches. First attempt at the front bolt did not yield very well but I realized it was not needed to remove. Bearing pull and replace under the car was just about as much time as bolts off and on. Scratch line with a screw driver provided a good alignment guide. Found one of the four body threads for the support was rusted out after removal. Autozone puller rental and bearing hammer allowed the use of one bearing base to pressure the puller with a small piece of steel to block the hole. 2 hours broken up

Is it possible to use ”normal” washer instead of that which has edges for the spring?
@LongbowMedia2 жыл бұрын
I imagine the curved washer allows for the spring to properly seat inside the bushing. So my initial thought would be that a flat washer would be inadvisable. Can anyone else comment to this?

If the bearings are bad, do they cause vibration?
@ljbrizo Жыл бұрын
Usually a u joint,bearings they howl

The rubber bushing being old and worn out, yes. The u-joints bad, yes. The carrier bearing probably wouldn't cause vibrations too bad

It’s called a center support bearing….. A CARRIER BEARING HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH A DRIVESHAFT !!!
