Tried to troubleshoot my new (old) 2280R opener, had to figure all this out on my own up on a ladder. Should have checked out this video beforehand, saved myself some thinking. Thanks Mr. Musick!

This video saved me a ton of money! Although my Stanley was somewhat different, it was still fairly easy to do. Your video gave me the confidence to do it myself. I had to pay a garage door repairman $75 to tell me that he would not fix, but replace & install an entire NEW opener unit for $500 - $600. I found a replacement circuit board online with S & H for about $60, so over all, I'm only out $135. Much thanks!!!!

I came here to find out how to open the housing so I can have a look at the bulb receptacle and from the looks of things I only need to deal with the front of the opener - in either case, nice tutorial done with calmness a beginner like me appreciates. Thank you

This is an excellent tutorial on how to change out a logic board on a Chamberlain Liftmaster garage door opener. My opener has been giving me fits for some time. I figured it was the logic board but it always appeared too difficult to replace. This made the job easy.

My bulb on my garage door opener goes in and out it is not burned out t bulb it is like a short in the light socket. Will replacing the circuit board fix it

The logic board is packaged in a an anti-static board for a reason. Unless the exposed electronic item and the person handling it are properly grounded, one should never touch a circuit board for risk of ESD damage. The handling of the replacement logic board in the video is more of an example of what not to do. Other than that, yeah, replacing the logic board is that easy.

do you have to relearn the rolling codes if you replace the circuit board

Dan- How can I tell if the circuit board is the problem? I just replaced the drive gear which was worn out. The door opened once but then did not even seem to get power to even activate the motor. When I hit the opener button, I get a little click but that is it. Help

Thanks a lot for this video. How can I know for sure that the circuit board has gone bad? My sensors seem to be working because if I put my hands over the one with the green LED light the light goes off (nothing changes if I hold my hand over the orange one though) and I can close the door from the wall mounted button. I do here some clicking in the box when I press the car remote but it does not open. So it can only open from the wall mounted switch but not the car remote. Thanks for any help.

Sir. would like to ask if the garage door has to be open or closed manually is it also because of the circuit board too
@DDMGarageDoors4 жыл бұрын
Hi Nghia! No, there are a variety of reasons for the door to need to be open or closed manually, including that the issue may not be with the opener itself, but could also be with some of the parts connecting the opener to the door.

Is there a simple way to tell if your logic board is broken?
@lisagreer8310 жыл бұрын
My remote doesn't work unless I'm next to the door. I have replaced the battery, so that's not it
@DDMGarageDoors4 жыл бұрын
Hi Lisa! It could just be that your remote simply needs to be replaced. Remotes will eventually stop working, as with everything else, and will need to be replaced at some point. Unfortunately, this may just be the simplest solution.
