Helpful to know there are 7 nuts and wiper set screw is 1/16 Allen wrench. The nut above the instrument cluster gave me the most trouble. I removed the cluster mounting screws, moved it enough to use a 11/32 socket, universal and 1/4" extension on the ratchet. Once the nuts are loose, a deep-well socket is useful to finger-loosen the rest of the way.

Great video. Where did you find the OEM New Old Stock Dash Pad? I am about to do the same replacement on a 1974 Ford F-250, but am looking at the LMC Dash-Pad replacment. Thanks for posting!

Thanks. It actually came with the truck when I bought it. We also sell replacement dash pads raybuck.com/product/1973-1979-ford-f-series-pickup-replacement-dash-pad/. The only group that comes to mind for the defroster vent might be Dennis Carpenter.

Liquid wrench was helpful to remove the headlight knob.

Oh, I am also looking for a defroster vent system. Mine is crumbling and no longer functional. Any idea who might sell a suitable replacement for the vents?

I got lucky and the nos pad came with the truck. We sell an aftermarket one as well on raybuck.com. Not sure about the defroster. I've been asked about that before but am not sure where to find it.

There a button on top of the light switch push to get the job off

Thanks. Yeah, I figured that out after I finished this project. Knowing that ahead of time would have made this project a lot easier.

You’re doing an instructional video on how to replace a dash pad but don’t have a clue how to remove the headlight shaft ? Geeeeze
@RaybuckAutoBodyParts13 күн бұрын
Yeah, as I mentioned, I was figuring it out as I went along. I'm not claiming to be an expert - just someone who works on a lot of different vehicles and likes figuring this stuff out. I did figure out the shaft and added that in, and also made a separate video just for it.

I’m pretty sure when most people go to KZbin looking for a video on how to do something they’re NOT looking for the guy yanking and pulling on stuff and hasn’t even taken the time himself to Google “removing 73-79 headlight shaft”.

Ok, i guess this channel isn't for you. Thanks for checking it out, though.
