I landed up getting a unit from canada that designed to work with this obd ( mut11), it does basic functions, you can read the codes for all the computers by short pin1 and pin4 on obd connector, different lights flash the error codes for the different computers.

I have an 06 that stalls and loses revs after a gas fill-up. Plus gas mileage is god awful... Hopefully after your suggestions and new plugs I can get some more use out of this clunker. Regardless, thanks for the video!

I've been trying to connect scanner to same model outlander 2003, without luck, any chance you could check your obd connection wiring colours and positions in the connector so i can see if my wiring is ok, since they got a code reader to work with yours? heres my obd connector colours/position: 1. green 2 nil 3nil 4.black 5.black 6. nil 7: orange/blue 8.nil 9: green /orange 10.nil 11.nil 12:nil 13 white 14. white/blue 15: nil 16: withe/black I know its a big ask, its quite hard to see the connector under the dash also, but if you have time to check would appreciate

Just keep disconnecting from scanner and messing with it! I had to do that and it eventually worked

One is an EGR vacuum solenoid and the other is a canister purge solenoid

No. The purge valve is the black solenoid sitting directly to the side of the brown one shown in the video

i keep getting P0456 on mitsubishi 02 galant went away and back after 3 new gas cap and the oem model gas cap but still engine light comes up any suggestions i did have code p0401 too and replaced egr vlave reset light went away and no engine light so i thought fixed but after 2 months the service engine light back on with the P0456 ?

Check the hoses that goes to all those components. They will crack with age and leak. That can cause intermittent issues

@@fullbore782 thank you sir i did smoke it too but the mechanic couldn't see any smoke from hoses its a big headache any other suggestions spend a lot on such a little issue

​@@fullbore782hey everyone I've got this vehicle same issue but the black selenoid next to the red selenoid keeps clicking all the time when engine is at idle. I know it's the black one because when I disconnect when it's running it stops and connect back up and constantly clicking what is the black selenoid
