How to Replace the Fork Seals on a Honda CB125E

As the miles clock up on your Honda CB125E some things are destined to wear out such as the seals on the front forks. Our test bike was no exception.
This is a how-to video on how to replace your fork seals and get your bike back on the road. The general practices shown here apply to many motorcycles, not just the Honda CB125E. Be warned though, this is the directors cut with over an hours footage showing the whole process from go to whoa!!

Usually you would just want something that only makes contact with the outer tough a bit of the seal not just something flat but I'm sure it worked fine

I'm planning to change my Honda NSR fork seals and i think that cb and nsr forks are pretty much the same design?

They are all very much the same. Do a bit of googling though and try and find out what oil the forks need and exactly how much required.

Thanks for your detailed illustration. Can I ask if I just want to change fork seal and oil with new ones, can I only pour out old oil and fill new oil in straight without dismantling the whole thing? BTW I like all your videos although there are not many fans here. That's really helpful. Please keep it going.

Hi! Thanks for the words of encouragement. :) If you just want to change the oil you don't need to dismantle the whole thing though making sure there is no old oil remaining in the fork can sometimes be tricky. If you want to change the seals as well the method shown here is probably the best choice. The old seals often don't want to come out easily.
