I did this repair today on a 2007 Infiniti G35x. It took about 6 hours including set up and clean up. Just a few 1/2' tools that helped make the job easier for me: - 1. 25" breaker bar (Harbor Freight). - 32mm deep socket. - 22mm socket. - 17mm socket. - 1/2" socket extensions (short & med length). Also: - 3lb hammer. - 14mm box wrench/ratchet. - anti-seize paste. - wire brush. - sand paper. - prybar. - worklight. - floor jack. - jack stands. The replacement wheel hub I received did not align with the ABS sensor. This required repositioning the backplate of the hub. I was able to do this using the pipe jaws of a 5" bench vice (and using a screw driver & hammer to rotate the backplate). If I didn't have the vice, I'm not sure this would have been achieved. Jim's video deserves all the credit for a good outcome. What I thought was bad tires turned out to be a roaring driver side wheel hub.

The video production and narration are perfect. And, you can tell Jim is a guy with a lot of integrity. Wish he was in our town, he'd get my business. Well done! I have a 2007 G35x with what sounds like a wheel hub issue (new tires did not correct what sounded like tires singing). This video may have given me the confidence to try this myself. Hopefully, the 32mm nut will come off using a breaker bar.

Nice video Jim! They are all so clear and helpful. About to embark on a similar project. (Maybe my ABS tone ring is bad?). Details: My 2006 Nissan Murano has ABS and AWD error lights on, and a really bad front brake pulsation - but only for the first few seconds of driving. Computer showed a bad right front ABS signal so I replaced that ABS sensor and cleaned the other 3. I also did all 4 brakes very carefully, with all new slide pins, clips, rubber boots... lubed everything, torqued everything (incl lug nuts) to spec... and still have the same exact pulsation. Then, took apart right front brakes again, checked/lubed parts, replaced rotor this time, sanded the brand new pads a bit (but they seemed perfect)... and the really bad pulsation continues for only the first few seconds of driving. ABS and AWD error lights are still on. Think it's a bad ABS control module or tone ring? What a pain in the @$%&! Dan

Hello, thank you for clear instructions. I have two questions if you have time: 1. Did you do any trick to remove ABS sensor after the first attempt? 2. Do you think we should use tread lock on Caliper bracket bolts?
@kansasgardener58443 жыл бұрын
I can answer that. If you don't break the bolt on the sensor you can twist it to get it out. It's round! No loctite on any of the bolts but do torque to spec!

@deltabravo57195 жыл бұрын
Id would like to weigh in... Yes, replace both sides... if one is gone, they other is on edge of going bad... likely.... its making noise that is just lower pitch than the louder/bad bearing. no they dont both have to be done in the same day... if you dont have time... put it off till you are ready... just expect the second bearing to go when the first does... they make anywhere from 50K to 150K miles.. my infinity G37X made 70K for the pass side and i put the drivers side on the shelf.. it made it to 125K. I been running the car for 5K with bearing howl... they last a long time when going bad. Thank you safety engineers. and bearing design today. LOL

Before pushing in the brake pistons, draw off some brake fluid from the master cylinder. After completing the job, make sure you pump the brake pedal. It might get exciting not having brakes for a while. Be careful to top off the fluid during the pumping phase. These are just suggestions, your mileage will vary.
