There are actually 3 filters in the fuel pump assembly. The second one is at the bottom on the inside of the pump assembly. To change, unplug the fuel gauge sender connector and carefully remove the lower black housing that is held together with 3 tabs at the top. The third filter is a cartridge style in the top section that is held in position in a housing with 3 tabs.

Would there be any benefit to scrapping that filter altogether and putting in a more accessible inline fuel filter? Picking up the oil change kit from the Sea Doo dealership for the first time, I asked to purchase the fuel filter.... I was told it didn't have one. A 2018 GTX 300... my first ski, and even I thought that didn't sound right.

Good question. It would be easier to clean, that's for sure, but would add two new points of possible failure. That may be why they put it in the tank. Looks like there is a fuel filter for your machine, though (PN 270600113), but they may have changed the configuration according to the parts diagram. Thanks for your comment.

Hi. Can you tell me how to replace the interior lower filter in the fuel pump reservoir? The exterior lower filter is easy (like you have shown) but the interior seems to have been manufactured in the housing.

That’s a great question. We haven’t done it before and assume that it can’t be replaced. We suggest just cleaning the screen as best as possible as long as it’s still in good condition. Alternatively, there may be some other advice out out there on how to do it, but that’s what we would do. Thanks for your comment.

Hey guys what would you recommend to repair broken bracket for exhaust box strap? Any type of jb weld product good to glue back in place or do I need to rivet this back?

If you have a rivet tool, I would use that. Or even a nut and bolt. JB Weld is excellent for some applications, but I wouldn’t trust it for that. Good luck.

@@3ftDeepChannel i do not have rivet tool. How would I attach nut and bolt thru fiberglass hull? I don't believe I can get to the underside unless it lines up where ride plate is.

Yikes, I didn’t mean for you to drill through the hull. Do not do that! I would go to the hardware store and get some heavy-duty construction glue to put it back in place. I would roughen up the metal bracket, first and drill some holes through the bracket so the glue seeps through. Someone at the store should be able to advise you on some heavy-duty weatherproof adhesive. Good luck.

I’d check the jet pump first for any water intrusion. If so, repair any damaged components. I’d also spray some fogging oil in the cylinders, to minimize the damage caused by the first few piston strokes. Make sure the battery is fully charged, and capable of holding a charge. If it’s >4 years old, I’d replace it. I’d replace the engine oil and filter and spark plugs. You may also want to replace the gasoline, especially if it has an odd smell. Check for any corroded parts and replace as necessary, especially hose clamps. Those are the main things. Good luck!

After how many hours do you recommend to change the fuel on an rxp 2015? 🍻

It's not a regular maintenance item, so there's no real service interval. We would normally replace it if we're pulling the fuel pump for some reason, or if there are high hours (i.e. >300 hours), the machine is older (i.e. >10 years) and it's not quite getting up to the speed it should. Also bear in mind that dropping speed is normally caused by wear on the pump wear ring so that should always be checked first.

Yes there is, I took mine apart and it's a cartridge style filter. It's very difficult to get out. Very bad design. Mine was absolutely packed with mud, like you couldn't see the fins of the filter (156 hours, 2011 GTI)
