How to replace the hidden fuel filter on an N80 Hilux!

This week we replace the hidden fuel filter in the N80 Hilux!
That’s right, there’s a hidden fuel filter in the fuel pump! It not on the service schedule to get replaced but you can buy it and replace it

Toyota also state autos don't require regular oil and filter changes! Still bloody changing it though! There is wide spread reports of people changing these and improving there fuel economy.

Вам встречались проблемы 1gd-ftv балансирных валов? Попался коментарий под видео о моторе 1gd, человек утверждает что у этого мотора ломаются балансирные валы и мотор выходит из строя при пробеге 90 - 120 000 километров. Он работает дилером toyota и у него много примеров на этот счет. Но я нигде не нашёл похожей информации. Можно ли доверять такому комментарию?

Far out, no wonder my fuel filter has been so clean.. I think Toyota only replace now every 40,000(?) correct if I'm wrong but that sounds insane

Our local Toyota dealer refused to replace it on our N80 at 170, 000 k's. Go figure!!

Can’t believe he just let diesel spill over the engine when bleeding - can imagine the mess that’s going to create when driving on the next dirt road. Could have put a container there to capture it.

We wash down the engine bay after changing filters or oils. Just not shown in the video

Have replaced a pump on a GUN before, replaced that filter while I was in there, can confirm so much easier when the intake manifold is off

Dont know why you dont remove the tyre for more access. So you are not stretching over it

Ive seen the comments on FB, i literally do not understand how Toyota cannot know about this, they have the workshop manuals with exploded diagrams of literally every assembly and sub assembly, one guy suggested changing the allan bolts out for regular bolts of same threads

Most parts guys only order what you want from a VIN. They don’t know what they do or where they are in the car. So you have to give a part number or ask for the diagram of that area and tell them what part number you want. It’s a constant struggle unless it’s something common they order all the time.
