How to replace the LCD on a Sharp PC-1246/1247 pocket computer

Would it make it easier to remove the bezel if you heat it up slightly? For example, by putting it onder an iron at low setting with a cloth in between.

Since you have to remove the plastic polarization strip; why not include a clear, slightly thicker, plastic strip with the new display and avoid contact issues with the elastomeric strip? PS, thanks for making these available. I thought I had bought some complete, new old stock PC-1 display assemblies, but they didn't work.

would you know if the LCD for the PC-1401 is the same as what you used in your video? Would you also recommend using a hair blower to soften the glue to remove the white bezel part? I plan to repair my 1401 and plan on ordering the same LCD. thank you

The LCDs are not the same, so they are not interchangeable. I would not recommend a hair blower. Use a razor blade.

Pretty soon you will get into the elastomeric strip business too I think.. those things can't possibly last forever. Can you get those from Jameco or Digikey and cut them to size?
