Thank you for this. I need to replace my parking brake shoes and was perplexed looking at the brake lines, wondering how to remove the caliper without bending the lines. I didn't see the 10mm bolt holding the lines in lace. All comes to me now. perfect vid for this. I'll be doing this all in a month when it warms here in Frostbite Falls, MN

Great help, thank you for taking the time to create this video! Oh and thank you for not using torque wrench to loosen bolts! 😧

New pads don’t have sensors in them

those little 10MM bolts that hold the brake line to the knuckle are easily cross threaded. both of them were on my new-to-me 2007 cayman 2.7l. fortunately, they are not stressed and an extra washer did the trick even when cross threaded and unable to be screwed in to the proper distance. as an alternative to loosening the cap on the brake reservoir and dealing with potential overflow issues when pushing back the brake pads (especially if doing all four sets of pads, or even two sets of pads) one can simply crack the bleed screw on the caliper and let the fluid fall on an absorbent surface or attach a small hose to the bleed screw before loosening. care should be taken to immediately re-tighten the screw once the pads are pushed back. turning that retention pin in order to gain access to the hole for the split-pin after it has been inserted over the spring clip i found to be next to impossible. i eventually gave up and had actually pay attention the SECOND time to the position of the cotter pin hole before and while installing it. ...thought i could get away with a little short-cut... wasn't hapn'n. :(

No anti seize? What about brake grease on back of pad to keep from squeaking ? Not needed ? I plan to do my brakes here soon. I already got the parts.

I don’t drive in the rain and these pads were quiet and I track it but some grease on back of the pad is fine.

@@wongtrain did you fit DBA's to your 987 2.7l base? if so, which model numbers did you install?

@@MuggaVirtualPilotMVP I didn't end up using DBA... I used StopTech for the rear rotors and something else (I forget, I think OEM) for the front. As I understand it, as long the rotors fit right, then the only difference is the material.

@@MuggaVirtualPilotMVP they might not have one because of the offset change from the 986 to 987 but they are great to deal with if you contact DBA directly
