Getting the fuel rail back down and secure was hard for me but glad you showed how. Had a spark plug blow out. I figured it thanks to a couple videos like yours.

Seems like a very easy way to replace the injectors as well! I have a 1997 e350 with a stuck open injector. While doing the plugs im gonna try and do injectors too.

Great Job! I like the down-to-earth real deal mechanic vibe. I learned to speak Spanish in Spain & am working on my Ford Trucks in Germany. I did understand the quick translation of Magnet to IMAN. Cool stuff & keep up the good work!

You would think Ford would have designed a better route for the fuel rails. One has to take apart so much just to get to the coils and the spark plugs. Great job brother 👍

The spark plugs are certainly not easy access. I want to change the plugs on my 2001 E-350 and I'm glad I watched your video. I'll be sure to allow plenty of time to take everything apart and put it back together. Thanks! 😊😊🛠🔧🔧

Don't use anti seize in these engines. Torque to 25 lbs to stop the plugs from spitting out. Only use Motorcraft plugs also
@reverse_aid0744 Жыл бұрын
Spark plugs don't matter as long as they meet oem requirements.
@wyatt1153 Жыл бұрын
@@reverse_aid0744 They matter big time in older Ford's. Autolites and others will misfire.
@htatesil4192 Жыл бұрын
😂😂😂😂 no anti seize 25lbs bro the book says 15ft your risking breaking them
@wyatt1153 Жыл бұрын
@@htatesil4192 That's the new recommendation from Ford technicians. 25lbs is really not a lot of torque. Even 20 would do it. 15 is to light. The problem is that the exhaust gases eventually back out the plug with light torque. There's only 4 threads. I check torque every 12-15k. They'll never back out with 20-25 lbs. No anti seize recommendation. They're already nickel coated.
@JM-AUTO Жыл бұрын
The problem is on the cylinder head not on the spark p, not enough thread on cylinder head from manufacture. So when the plug blows up it brings the thread with.

I have the same Milwaukee cordless ratchet, and I opened the head on mine, and greased it. It took some time and careful work, but yours sounds like it is very dry inside, and mine runs very smooth and quiet now.

great, I should have done that too but never have the time, now mine stapped working so I bought another one, thanks for the suggestion and knowledge.

You can actually use a 5/8 spatk plug socket to remove the plugs and you won't need a magnet to pull plugs out
@goldenchildmoversllc-mover69802 ай бұрын
Still need a magnet if it hits something and fall out.

11 In. Straight & 90° Offset Long Reach Pliers, but there are several degrees like 20 or 45 degrees and you get them at hardbordfreight tools.

When i was lifting up on the fuel rail, one of the fuel injectors detached between the rubber and metal. Any advice on how to fix this? Thanks
@JM-AUTO Жыл бұрын
if the injector did not brake then you just put it back just lubricate the o ring so it does not bind but if the injector broke then replace it.
@jamesissound Жыл бұрын
@JM Auto Repair Thank you. The o ring was stuck inside the metal portion. I fished it out and reattached it.

American engineering. Half a day's work just to get to the spark plugs. This is why when a neighbor asked me if I would change the pugs on his 2004 E350, I said no way. After all the BS, then you run into something like the insert issue or you break the plug.

It weems like the gas is never going to stop dribbling out of my fuel rail. There's no mention of it leaking out in the video, so its kinda freaking me out.
@JM-AUTOАй бұрын
unless there is a fuel leak but it should only leak very little when you open it and it should stop
@arispowers6062Ай бұрын
@JM-AUTO ok, well, there was a constant dribble that never seemed to stop, so I reinstalled the rail, especially since other videos I found on this job didn't mess with the fuel rail. But apparently I didn't get a port seated right, because gas poured out when I turned on the engine. The rail is definitely annoyingly in the way, but it can be worked around, so I think avoiding the much worse situation with leaking fuel would have been worse dealing with the bad ankles caused by leaving the fuel rail in place
