Jason is still alive and kicking, that Gehl has a similar track system to an SVL75 that I'm used to. Getting tracks swapped out was a grunt it really helped having a mini to push the tracks on. Tracks didn't last long on the SVL75 it would tear the drive lugs out, tracks were always tensioned to where they were supposed to be.

I believe Gehl is the first to come out with automatic track tension via hydraulic system on their new skiddys

We typically place blocking between the idler and the front bucket and use the bucket to push the idler in to remove the grease from the grease ram.

That would work, along with if you had another machine just pushing directly on the idler.
