Thank you. I just swapped out the tps on my 98 sierra 5.7 it had been shaking something awful and shifting like the trans was getting ready to fall out. Not anymore. Followed the process as shown. Now all is good in my rig

@@fc.3619 most likely yes, it’s an automatic. The TPS sends signal to the trans, letting it know what the throttle input is. In which, the transmission will know when to shift/downshift. It’ll stay in a lower gear longer, shift sooner, downshift etc… A symptom of a TPS that is failing/has failed is the transmission will shift too firmly, slamming into the next gear. Typically early signs are noticeable when shifting 1st to 2nd

Thanks for this vid !! Very inspiring :-) Saved time by just removing the 'soundbox' & upper air intake 'manifold'. Also since I had performed the preliminary tests (pg6-12 Haynes), after install of new TPS , disconnected neg cable off batt' for a minute . Then with foot firmly on brake pedal since codes were removed and it was fast idling,, went for a relearn cruise . Being 9ish pm, traffic was almost non-existent perfect for sightseeing/pcm relearn cruise 8-) Next week was EGR valve extraction and cleaning.

I have a 96 Silverado. I’ve installed 2 different transmissions and still having issues. I just installed a rebuild transmissions and truck won’t move once I put it in gear. Can the tps or ecm ground be the issue?

Does anyone know if the TPS is spring loaded or just senses its position? Mine was lose and would hold whatever position I moved it to with my finger. Wondering if the spring has gone.

I change this on my 93 silverado now when i start it the rpm goes up and down til I either give it gas or it warms up the old one I took off never did that any idea what I did wround or whats going on with it I changed the ignition control module the same time
