New Timing Belt and Component Kit from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ib/GATBK00013
This video shows you how to install a TRQ water pump in your 2000-2006 Toyota Tundra 4.7L V8. The water pump keeps coolant flowing through your engine. Common failures of the water pump will leave the coolant leaking, or stagnant. Both will lead to overheating if left untreated. Install a new engineered to fit water pump from TRQ for total peace of mind.
This process should be similar on the following vehicles:
2000 Toyota Tundra
2001 Toyota Tundra
2002 Toyota Tundra
2003 Toyota Tundra
2004 Toyota Tundra
2005 Toyota Tundra

Something that may help out another person.... When I went to change my timing belt, the cam pulleys were off by one tooth. Whoever changed it last left it that way. I wasn't really sure what to do at this point. Everyone says make sure your 3 marks line up, but no one tells you how to fix it if they don't. I installed the new belt I had the same problem. 1 tooth off on the Cams. After hours of trying to research and fix this issue, I stumbled across A FREAKING TIK TOK VIDEO. It explained that if you run a piece of cardboard maybe 6-10" in between the cog gear and the belt, it will offset it just enough to shift the belt ONE TOOTH. IT FREAKING WORKED. I was so happy I could cry! Try the cardboard! it works!

To anyone following this, he has his left and right cams terminology round the wrong way sometimes. The right cam is on the right of the vehicle as you drive it. If your timing belt says left and right on it, ignore this mechanic's terms, and follow the instructions in your kit. Left is left side of vehicle as tou drive it. Also: he just says "install crank bolt" and doesnt show it be tightened or give a torque.....because he doesnt have the correct crank holding tool, and instead uses the impact gun to what feels good haha.

Just have to say, I started working on cars in 1966 I am 74 now, i have always done my own mechanics, hard because i am not a mechanic, i just learn as i go, not having money can cause a person to do their own work and learn things .as most home mechanics know, I use videos often, I watched this one because i am doing the timing and pump+ seals on my 2004 v8 Toyota 4runner,I have seen many, I have to say this guy is so just professional and so ready and spot on on everything, easy to follow, 100% coverage on everything,no speeding ahead just slow but excellent coverage, He could represent any company in videos covering how to, the best i have seen, I would try to represent companies if i had his talent, so thankful i found him, will use Him anytime i can. thanks so much and i mean this, you are over-the-top good. I was sweating having to do this. My car 2003 sequoia 160,000 miles on it with the original timing belt. I can literally watch this and do it piece by piece now. In my garage. Doesn’t sound exciting maybe, but to me it is! Thank you so much for these tutorials. They mean the world to guys working on their cars.

I don't know if you will read this comment but if not i hope it gives the viewers some confidence doing this job. A friend of mine was in over his head doing this job on a 2002 model. Yesterday he texted me that he was nervous and doesn't want to mess up. He's never done a timing job before. I'm an Amputee(left leg from knee down) and my prosthetic leg is currently broken so I'm on crutches. So being the kind of friend i am i went to the shop on crutches and did this job. It took a little longer because of not having my leg but it got done. I followed this video step by step. Got the job done and the truck runs great. The only note i would add to the video is about the removal of the harmonic balancer(crank pulley). Do yourself a favor and spray it with a penetrating oil like deep creep and get a pulley puller. If that pulley hasn't been removed in a while it's quite a problem getting off and you risk moving the crank after having it and the cams lined up and ready for the new timing belt which will have you cussing like a sailor🤣🤣 So in order to make sure you don't move the crank be patient and spray it to help loosen it up and go slow with the puller. The consequence of getting impatient at that junction is putting the pulley and belt back on to get the timing lined up again. That's my only note. Other than that this video was on point from start to finish. Don't let yourself get intimidated by this job. The majority of the job is removing everything in order to get to the objective and putting all of that back on. Take pictures if you feel it's too much to keep track of and lay out paper labeled with where nuts and bolts go because there are a lot in this job. Good luck and take your time😎

I have been broken down in the middle of New Mexico. Your video is saving me not only on repairs but towing too. I was able to get all the necessary parts and have them delivered to a nice neignor thats been helping me with tools and rides. Your video is by far the most descriptive and has made this repair pretty straight forward for someone that has minimal mechanic experoence. Thank you for saving me what im guessing would have been close to 2k after a long ass tow. You rock!!!!

ATTN: when dis-mounting AC compressor only remove the 3 14mm bolts and the 12mm bolt and nut on the outside bracket.. "the little guy". The other 12mm bolts can stay bolted along with the main mounting bracket. When Torqueing the 12mm bolt to 36 ft-lbs be careful Mine snapped 🥲. Either i missed the torque click on my wrench or 36 is too much sauce. TRQ, thank you for making this video I'm not trying to take away from your glory you deserve it and you're a hero!! I know this is titled Timing Belt Water Pump replacement, but it seems to me that you should address changing small coolant hoses along the way while you are that deep into the project. I would hate to have to take half that equipment off again to replace a $5 hose. Otherwise this is a great video. I plan on performing this procedure on my 2000 Tundra. I will replace all hoses and the serpentine belt while Im in there. Thanks for the great narration including all torque specs along the way.

I just did mine, I'm concerned about something tho, the bolt that holds the tensioner pully to the tensioner bracket. Does that come already torqued from the kit? I can't remember if I checked that before putting it all back together. Truck runs normal after everything, just don't know if I should tear it back apart to see if that bolt was tight from the factory or if I have to tighten it

So how long do Timing Belt actually last? ASIN or OEM part of course? My TB is was done at 160k on my 2005 Sequioia. I'm currently at 220k miles. I'm just preparing. My 2001 Toyota Avalon TB was replaced at 80k miles by the previous owner. It currently has 180k. I just changed it due to it being at 100k miles since the last change. The belt looked great. Feel like I wasted my time. It was only 200 bucks for the ASIN kit so not a big deal, but it did take me several days. Learned something new so that was cool. But I'm definitely not looking forward to the TB on the sequoia after watching this video.
