I have a 2008 Ford Explorer Sport Trac. We were just quoted 2000 total to replace the transfer case. Turning sharper and slower like parking makes a clunking noise. That is why we took it in. We were told its not dire to fix it.. The noise may get louder or it may not. But it won't break the car or cause an accident. So we are opting not to fix it, not for 2000 bucks.

Did I miss something?? You reinstalled the old one, you put the wire back in the hole it came from. Where do I put it in a new motor. I have 2 extra wires. Do they go in the new one where they were in the old 1? I'm guessing they do but don't know and I don't want to fry anything so I won't proceed with that decision. Wish me luck.

I accidentally damaged the brown wire because I tried to remove from the transfer case side can you identify this wire what’s it’s purpose thanks??
