Thank you for this excellent video, as I was able to replace my shift motor in my 2007 Dodge Durango. I saved a ton of money and the new Mopar shift motor corrected multiple Com B data errors to the Front Control Module (FCM). Thank you again.

Would you replace that part if ur 4wd shifts in and out on its own or is there some kind of relay or accuator u could replace first becuz that part is freakn expensive!!!

Confirmed that this fixes the random shifting. The first one did nothing at all because it was a dud from new, but the second replacement works great.

If the key way doesn’t line up how do you align them. Does the shaft in the transfer case turn.

Okay, so, I have an 07 Aspen that got stuck in 4lo. This video provides no advice on manually shifting the transfer case (a bad motor means that the position of your selector means fuck all), so below are the steps I took. Note: I was doing this in my driveway. 1. Jack up the front end, and make sure the back wheels are chocked. 2. Disassembly (watch the video) 3. Once I got the old motor off, O got into the vehicle. Without starting the engine, I put it in neutral. 4. I got back under it and put vice grips on the transfer case spindle. Could probably just use pliers, but i was alone and vice grips made the next bit easier. 5. Using one hand, maintain constant light pressure while trying to turn the spindle clockwise (if in 4lo. In 4hi, counter clockwise I'd imagine.) Using my other hand, I slowly turned one of the front wheels back and forth. Doing this got it to click into AWD. I had a few false starts as the vice grips slipped off, and this is probably not the mechanic approved method, but it's what worked for me. Hope this helps!

If you don't have a lift you have to get it pretty high by blocking it up if you want to see what you are trying to do, otherwise you're doing a lot of feeling around with your fingers. doing this in your back yard aint so easy
