It's also a good idea to remove the old gasket on the filter the orange/ brown one that goes on the tube This guy left it on top it's noticeable when he installed the new filter plus the old filter had no gasket when he was explaining about the magnet on the pan Keep your day job man!

best tech tip ever for the ford trans, AOD, AODE, and 4R70 change teh filter and drain and fill every second or 3rd oil change and the trans will last forever. Most of the truck torque converters have a drain plug on them also, so they can be drained through the inspection hole.

Very nice. I have an oversized Derale Transmission pan with a drain plug. Haven't done a fluid change yet....but it will be so incredibly easier than it used to be.

It looked like the transmission filter left the gasket up in the trans when the filter was pulled out. Then the new filter was installed with the same gasket.

I have a set of white steel wheels. 15x8. They are wrapped in 31” Firestone ATs. For a stock truck, I think 31 inch tires look really good.

Yes. However, old fluid has a way of making worn out transmissions work. So if you have shifting issues post fluid change, that is why.

@@TheMinuteMasters ok. Have you ever had to change the solenoid pack on your e40d? Ik those transmissions can be finicky. I just got one and only have reverse no forward gears at all and I topped the fluid level off. And its clean. Any thoughts?

@@oldsoulgarage2982 I haven’t but most are accessible once you remove the transmission pan. You can try replacing them and see if that fixes your issues. However, changing your fluid can have the negative result of causing issues. Sometimes dirty fluid can actually make work gear clutches work. For a test I would try to find a transmission “slip fix” additive. If that makes it work, then you will probably need a rebuild. If it doesn’t then it might be worth exploring a new valve body or changing out those solenoids.

i have a 94 with a 4.9 and whenever i start it up it revs really high for a few second and then goes back down to normal idle rpms. any idea? ive thought it may be a stuck throttle plate or the IAC

Does it rev abnormally high? Typically when you start a vehicle, the engine stays at a higher rpm range until it warms up.

You are probably right. I changed the fluid one mine for this video and now my overdrive light is blinking. Lol Old furry fluid can make these transmission work and new fluid can make an old transmission not work.

Hi does anyone know if 1995 fords used single or 4 port/spray hole injectors? Fsb And obs forums not 100% on this. >reason I ask, guys are claiming if you swap out old single hole/port injectors to newer 1996-1998 ford explorer that have same lbs, they have 4 holes/ports to spray gas and this increases MPG due to better atomization. But only makes sense if you have old single hole spraying injectors.

You guys are right. I did leave it in there by accident. I was surprised that the filter did not seat all the way but also equally surprised the filter stayed in there. I ended up doing another fluid flush and I found it removed it.

HEYY QUICK WARNING thats the wrong filter dude!! Thay pickup cant reach the bottom of the new pan, you have to get the 4r100 filter aswell!!! I really hope you see this! Edit: Im wrong, thats the right one, ima leave this up tho as some might not know that you do need to get a different filter too.

@@TheMinuteMastersbut the 4r100 is the beefier transmission of 10th gen, built to handle the 7.3 from the f250 and 350 line of 99 but was also put in the 150’s , the pan and some internals still fit the old e40d design
