Rocker covers are covers that are bolted on over rocker arms in an internal combustion engine. They are called valve covers in the United States, Canada, and in situations where Rocker Arms are not present, such as some Overhead Cam, and most Dual Overhead Cam engines.[1] and rocker boxes in the United Kingdom.
On modern engines without rocker arms they are internationally known as "valve cover" but are sometimes referred to as a "cam cover" or "timing cover" if they also cover the timing gear(s) and belt or chain.
V engines (V6, V8, etc.) usually have two rocker covers, one for each bank of cylinders, while straight engines (I4, I6, etc.) and single-cylinder engines usually have one rocker cover. Very large multi-cylinder engines, such as those used in a ship or in aviation, may have one rocker cover for each cylinder, to make removal and installation more manageable.

Thanks for the video, what brand gasket did you use? Would you happen to have a part number? Also do you have issues with the brake booster leaking, its notorious on the N46 engines :/

hi Meh Meh, thanks for watching. E87 valve gasket OEM Part Number : 11120032224 The are various brand in the market. so you maybe get those will good reputation with. I do not with any issue on brake booster yet.

@@diysignal3107 Hi Signal, excellent thank you for the information much appreciated! You are lucky to have no issue with the brake booster leaking, I have had two of these cars and both had leaks that dripped down onto the exhaust manifold. Really time consuming and costly fix, BMW issued a bulletin to seal it using "dreibond" that can be bought from dealerships.
