barn01 I have recently had this part replaced. My car was showing a lot of weird symptoms. I had an epc light, followed by a bunch of other random failures in the high pressure fuel pump, and basically every thing within that system. The final symptom was that I had a timing code p016 i believe. The strange thing about it. Is that the car would lose it's timing by about a tooth and a half, then magically reset. Also, there was a bunch of oil leaking from the sensor its self.

I had the same engine, that wiring harnes down to vac pump there is fresh oil i cheack during cold engine morning. When i removed that connector of vvt solenoid inside the 2pin plug there is a little hole that oil coming from and itvruns all down the wires towards vac pump. Dobyou have a video on vac pump replace and i tried my tools and it wont fit. What tools do you used?

I have this exact engine but I fitted toyota individual throttle bodies. I designed a variable velocity stack which shortens during higher revs by using an actuator. Can I connect the actuator to the camshaft control valve when the lift kicks in?

Stripped my T-20 bolt on one and the other was tooken off properly but only the head came off and the other half stayed in the hole. Any way to remove these?? TIP: Do Not Overly Tighten These Screws.

When the VVT is bench tested, does the flap closes all the way? I bench tested mine and does a clicking sound but the flaps don't close all the way. My car is showing code P0016, could the VVT not working be the cause? Thanks

it is located the opposit end of the camshaft on the 09 and up you need a special tool to undo it as t is round and has 2 little round holes in it to tighten/lossen it it is located behind the magnetic timming adjuster
