If you want new bolts for install you need m8 1.25 flanged bolts 25mm long (sold at oreillys). Use permatex number 2 all the way up and down the threads. Let the sealant skim over which takes 5-10 minutes. INSTAL GASKET DRY WITH THE FELPRO. YOU SHOULDNT NEED SEALANT ON IT. And be sure to load it in the threads especially the first 5 threads. Use a felpro gasket (dont use a gasket the pump may come with get felpro), and an ac delco pump. Torque to 18.5 foot pounds (icon makes an excellent torque wrench for this). Run them in till they touch the pump. And torque in a N or X pattern first to 10 foot pounds. Then to 18.5 and go around the bolts at least twice at final torque.

And rent a cooling system pressure tester from oreillys, you get the money back after you return it. And test it without putting anti freeze in after getting the pump tightened down to 10 psi with air. If it holds and needle doesnt go down you should be fine.

Do you have to take all the fan housing or can you leave it and be able to replace the water pump?

The torque wrench listed indicated 25-250 pounds. The torque required for this job is 18.

Should I flush the system with the old water pump still on or after I've put the new one in?
