Hey guys. I don't normally comment on these types of videos, but thought it was warranted this time. I got home from work last night and found a puddle of coolant under my wife's Acadia in the driveway and diagnosed a bad water pump. While I normally do all of the work on our vehicles, some of the videos I had seen from this process made me scared to even touch the thing. However, after finding this video and watching it through a few times just to get an idea of what the process looked like, I got the job done in less than 4 hours this morning. Going step by step through a decent size job like this makes all of the difference to a DIYer such as myself, and I know the $300 plus that you saved me is just a drop in the bucket compared to all of the money you've saved everybody by making these videos over the years. Thank you so much for the production and leaving these up for everyone to see as time goes on, and I want to encourage anyone out there that sees a daunting task like this to take it one step at a time, you might surprise yourself with what you are capable of.

This is probably one of the best instructional videos I’ve ever seen. This video should be used to show others how to make instructional videos.. This mechanic was in a clean and quiet environment. He had everything planned out. Camera angles were perfect. Thank you very much.

First off thank you. Just finished this job on my wife's vehicle. It was at the 10:30 mark that changed my life. I now understand why you did not show the removal of all water pump bolts. To anyone thinking of doing this, please be prepared to get creative and add some tools to your arsenal to help get to them. It's one thing to be able to reach them, and something completely different to loosen/tighten them. My wife's vehicle, 2014, had an additional ac hose that limited clearance. Still doable, but there were moments of frustration. Again, thanks for the video walk through. I couldn't have done the job without this. Saved me a few $$

Today's date September 7 2021. Hands down the most helpful and thorough video for these years of Acadia's. Why this vid has 15 thumbs down, not a clue. Stop searching for a better video. Multiple High 5's to the TRQ team. Edit; A couple of things to note. The Acadia I worked on had an extra line with insulation and a P strap mounted to the frame in front of the waterpump. It made the job a bit more difficult. This technician states the orientation of the waterpump. That is critical. A tip. Mark the old pump and block with a sharpy or something. Once you remove the old pump match it to the new pump and mark it . The bolts in the kit I used did not have the blank or start point as the OEM bolts do. That alone made the job miserable. If you don't have a torque wrench you can rent one from the auto parts store for free. They take a deposit but don't charge the card. Once you return it. They give all of it back. The dog bone shaped engine strut. When reinstalling put the small end in first. The one in the Acadia I worked on needed replacing. I do stand by my earlier comment. Hands down the best video for this job.

Great video thanks, Just did a 2008 enclave 3.6 was able to drop it out the bottom saved so much time, also did a starter to, directions say to remove the cat but I removed the motor mount next to the cat instead as I didn’t want to deal with breaking the exhaust studs, the top bolt on the motor motor was tricky to get to so I removed the oil filter which helped, worse motor I’ve ever worked on, I swear they make it as hard as possible so you take it in

Thank for the instructional video. The last one I did I pulled the fender well out and had to pull all the pulleys out of the way. It was a chore. And call me weird but I did like the fact the mechanic used several different brands of tools. Wasn’t all snap on or Marco. Even saw some good old craftsman in there. Doesn’t seem like a tool sponsored video. A lot like my toolbox. Always say doesn’t matter what brand it is just as long as it gets the job done. Yeah I notice dumb stuff like that

Lol, I took off the whole front bumper cover and headlight assembly, plus the inner fender liners and passenger wheel, to get it out. But I might take off these other parts like the fuse box to put it back in, that might make for a more secure replacement since I could get to it better.

10 minutes is a rough estimate. Hold the idle around 1500 to both speed it up and to actually get the engine to circulate the coolant and help push the air out. Leave the cap off and have the heat on high after its up to operating temp shut it off a minute or 2. Then top off coolant. Then repeat it again. after a couple start stops it'll burp it all up generally.

also get the bottom bolts of the pump from underneath with the tire off, much easier. When you get the belt back on push the tensioner harder to put more resistance on the pully of the pump so you can get those bolts nice and tight on the pulley.

This video isn’t up to your normal standards/quality without all the torque specs. Also, the outlet tube GASKETS mounted to the engine block with the two 10mm screws right ABOVE the water pump is an EASY fix while you are doing this job & should be replaced. Why do it again.
