That 2X4 was a genius move. Thanks this my third time replacing it with the dealership recall.

how much water drains out when you pulled the pump? Is there any way to pull the pump without draining it all down the front of the block and all over the AC compressor?
@homegrowncountryhomeplace2 жыл бұрын
Seems like maybe couple of gallons at least. Reguardless if you drain the radiator, you will have q good bit come out the block. Sorry I can't rememember the ecact amount. Have a Blessed Day Friend. Justin

About how much coolant did you have to add back to the system?

I'm sorry but it is hard for me to remember. It seems like I bought maybe 4 gallons of full strength and diluted it 50/50 myself. Can't remember if I used all 4 gallons. Have a Blessed Day Friend! Justin

Awesome video brother. My pump went out on me 2 days ago my 2017. What other parts you recommend replacing or looking out for. I'm doing hotshot so I just want be safe and know what are common parts that should be looked at and replaced on these trucks besides normal oil changes? Thanks and keep up the great job👍
@homegrowncountryhomeplace2 жыл бұрын
Your welcome. Just check your idler and tensioner pulleys for bearing noise or roughness. Also replace the belt if needed. My fan clutch was not operating like it should so I replaced it with OE part. Also replaced my fan blade because of some cracking. Other than that, just routine maintenance. When you changed your water pump did your truck throw an engine code?
@homegrowncountryhomeplace Жыл бұрын
It didn't. Make sure you plug up any connectors that you unplugged. Another thing it might set a code if you cycled your key on for some reason with a connector unplugged. Hope this helps. Have a Blessed Day Friend. Justin

@@homegrowncountryhomeplace thank you my friend, we are doing well. Isn’t it a shame that all truck manufacturers have lowered the quality of their trucks, and raised the prices, a new truck cost more than my first house. I’ll just keep caring for my two old dodge Cummins trucks till Christ returns or I take that long dirt nap,which ever comes first. Take care and may God richly bless you.

What's the first sign if, water pump is going bad?
@homegrowncountryhomeplace Жыл бұрын
So usually it would be anti-freeze leaking from the water pump or bearing noise from a worn bearing or see if you can feel looseness in bearing by pulling up and down on the pulley or if it is has a wobble in the pulley while the engine is running. The seal would leak from a worn bearing. Take tension off of belt to get a real feel of how much play is in bearing. A little is alright but if you have any significant movement, replace it. Also if any movement and 100 to 150,000 miles, I would replace it. They can go out all at once when bearings are getting worn. Have a Blessed Day Friend! Justin
