Thank you so much! I was so appalled at the idea of having to change the entire housing unit for the tire every time they wore out. I would never have been able to do it without your video! Thank you so much

Thank you! I was able to change the tires on my s9+ in about 30 min. ❤❤

Thank you Patrick for this, I would have gave up had i not found your video. Just wanting those that are considering this, like the other comments, this is no joke. I’m fairly handy and this was easily a 90 minute job. The old tires are a fight, getting the new tires on is a tricky, and ohhhh reconnecting that spring (when the other side came off like it did both left and right for me). It’s all back together now.

That spring coming off took a bit of time to figure out a technique to put it back on, all the time worrying about breaking that little plastic cap that goes over the motor. But, I finally got it.

may i just add a tip, use a hairdryer to warm the rubber first and it comes away that much easier . hope this helps?

This was a life saver for me!! Thank you!! Now to figure out why it looks like I turned our Roomba into a low rider because it’s bouncing up and down 😂

Taking the wheels off takes some real elbow grease. It's hard but doable! The rubber goes into the wheel like spokes every half of inch. I found working the regular screwdriver between those points and using a needle nose plyers really helped. Just support the wheel so you don't break anything when pulling off the old rubber wheel. I also found I had to work in about 1 inch sections until I got it all off. Thanks for making this video!!

Yeah that was my plan of attack as well. Good thing is doesn' thave to be perfect as long as get most out wheel stays flat

I was able to accomplish this and thought I was successful, but after reassembling everything, the Roomba runs erratically in circles then gives a left wheel module error. I attempted to remove the module and reinstall and I am still getting the same error. There is no tension or visible issues with the left wheel. I am at a loss as to what to do. I have tried rebooting twice.

Thank you so much for this video. Took me about 45 minutes total. I definitely used a blow dryer to warm up the old tread (didnt even worry about pulling out those tabs, just smoothed them down with a flat head) and then also heated up the new tread to make it more pliable. Put everything back together and so far so good. No error codes and the new tread is good. We will see how long they last though. I have had bad experiences with other cheap replacement parts on amazon.

You skipped over how to separate the part of the module with the connector and latch. Mine won't come apart and that leaves a lot less room to squeeze the tire through. Did you cut yours or were they always separated?

Sorry, i'm not sure what part your referring too, is your bot a S9?

This is not as easy as is shown in the video. Dont waste your time with Amazon cheap Roomba tires for the S9. They do not fit and they are not pliable. I was not able to get this project done and I have an incredible amount of patience. I literally tried to reverse engineer the module and it’s nearly impossible. I just bought a replacement S9+ Roomba for a song on Amazon and will use its replacement parts as needed. I won’t buy a replacement wheel module made in China as my experience with the clean sweep brushes and brush sweep all disintegrate rather quickly. I’m of the opinion genuine Roomba parts are the way to go. I do clean the filter with an electric duster and that helps.

Sorry it gave you some troubles....when i first tried to figure it out, took me a bit. When I did the second wheel (in video) was much easier. Either way, glad you worked it out!

It was easy for me an worked like a charm... i am a pool equipment repairmqn by trade so this came naturally. I guess its harder for some folks.

Thanks for this video! Your video makes this look easy, compared to the other two i saw. Told the wife I think it needs a set of treads, she says she needs an entire new vacuum 😮

You can do it! And save a lot of money 😀

the video is great but this s9 now charged but when sending to a job it backs off the station, stops and reports a "docking error". did you have this also. . .and fix that too? TU

Try rebooting your robot. Can hold down the Clean button for 20 sec or so or do in the IRobot App.

Thank you! Pain in the butt, but doable. Getting the old rubber off was a chore. Just making the first cut! I used a straight edge. It did not want to lift away even with the flat head. I also used a straight edge when I got to a hole, and I just sliced it right off. So there is some remaining old rubber filling in the holes still. As far as the spring, I used needle nose pliers to hold onto the spring during re-hooking. (And a flashlight) and when placing the other end of the spring on the plastic piece, tilt the plastic piece down and to the right instead of flat or flush with the vacuum. It hangs on better. Then place it in the screw hole and put your finger on top of it to hold it down. Then fit the rest of the plastic piece gently and screw it back on. Saved $70!

Are there replacement tires you recommend purchasing?
