Thanks for the info and video. Is there a difference between the regulators? I think mine may be one with a cable being that I heard it snap and some of the braided steel cable came up though the window. I'm probably going to have to buy the entire part even though the motor sounds to be still functioning but not sure if there is a difference. Thanks again.

@PimpCash07 You could try to spray the rubber weatherstrip around the window with a silicone spray to help speed it up. You could also put some white lithium grease on the window regulator track too. Hope this helps you out.

I got the new regulator and motor in, and when I don't have the window bolted to the regulator it goes up and down just fine, but when I attatch the window to it, it gets stuck halfway. Any idea on what the issue could be?

I used your video a few years back to troubleshoot the window. It failed again so I replaced the window regulator and motor using the video as a guide. I ordered the part from 1A Auto Parts and received it in three days. The part matched up perfectly, works perfectly and was $40 less than the cost at my local auto parts dealer. It was such a good deal, I bought the pair for just $10 more and replaced them in both doors. Thanks again for the great videos and great prices.

I drive a 2001 Monte Carlo. The window regulator has been breaking on a regular basis due to poor design. I have been shelling out $350 to get it fixed at auto shops. I always hated that since I'm very handy. This video boosted my confidence and today I did it by myself, doing so I saved $210. Thanks.

If it's a cable regulator and the cable is bound up, you would need to free the cable up in order to enable the window to slide down. Hope this helps you out. Have a great day! 1aauto.com

I have 2004 Monte Carlo SS Supercharged. On my driver side my window will go down fine but it wont come all the way back up. I have to guide it with my hand and even then it's not in there good cause I can hear wind while I drive. What should I do?

2 things I could use help on. 1. My water deflector on the interior of the door was in bad shape. I trashed it as it looked like mice had been in and out of it. What is the Actual Name of the part as I need a replacement. 2. I have installed the regulator. and it seems to be in place correctly, and the window will roll down correctly, but I have to guide it back into place as it comes up. Any advice on what I can do to fix this issue?Any help would be much appreciated thanks. Also thanks for the regulator parts and instructions thus far.

+Jacob McGee The plastic door water shield may be refereed to as a moisture barrier. You may want to try to roll the window up with the door panel off to see if you can see it catching on anything. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com
