Hey great video, I'm about to change mine on my 07 charger srt8. Which brand is that you are replacing it with? And do you recommend it?
@JesseBusse2 ай бұрын
Can't remember the actual brand but we got it off of ebay. A long as it's new that's what I'd recommend, not a rebuild kit you do yourself. Let me know if you have any other questions

Do you know how to adjust the pre-load on the rack? (tools needs) I see the screw and jamb nut on your old rack but it appears that you would have to lower the rack even to get to it. Can it be adjusted in place?
@JesseBusse11 ай бұрын
We just installed it as it and didn't mess with preload. We just made sure to get it aligned afterwards for obvious reasons
@tombanes11 ай бұрын
@@JesseBusse thanks for the reply. Yes you would have no need to touch it on a new unit if they set it correctly. I looked more closely at it installed in your upload and it appears that, yes, it would be accessible. I live in an apartment and have to get myself ready with tool and knowledge before heading down to do any work. Looks like a large socket on jamb nut and allen on adjustment screw. Thank again.

So the inner tie rods need no adjustment correct?
@JesseBusse Жыл бұрын
Not the inner tie rods but the outer tie rods you'll want to get close to original. Either way you'll want to get it aligned 🤙🏼

I have a question, I drive a SXT Charger 2008 3.5. I need a rack and pinon yet I stumble upon a problem. It gives me a hydraulic power steering and the other just says power steering. Is it the hydraulic? Just trying to get the right one thank you!
@JesseBusse2 жыл бұрын
Hydraulic power steering is power steering. If you have vehicle specific questions its always best to call your local dealership and give them your vin🤙🏼

Do you know if replacing the seal bushings would fix it from leaking instead of replacing the whole rack

Great install video. However, doesn't the car use ATF+4 as power steering fluid?
@JesseBusse3 жыл бұрын
They're the same viscosity, ATF +4 just has a higher temp rating than traditional power steering fluid
