Any advice about cleaning air intakes? I just picked up a 140,000km old Triton and the talk about EGR build up is stressing me out! Cheers
@ServiceMyRide6 жыл бұрын
Will be covering the intake manifold on removing an cleaning in a few episodes, also installing a good quality catch can an cleaning out the intercooler would be the first step, also block off the egr via cable or plate, get your hands on a workshop manual to remove an clean the intake as you will need the specs to install it.

On my 3.2 MN the oil filter is underneath which makes it easier to access. I was able to change my fuel filter (same type as the video) without removing everything which saved a heap of time! You do a very good job explaining things mate! Keep up the good work

Haha yeah those side mounted oil filters are buggers. I remove the front bash plate and wedge a small plastic disposable picnic bowl under the filter on the better halfs MN Triton. It catches 90-95% of the leakage.Removing the hoses above it also help and only takes a minute or two.Latex gloves also help grip the old filter, making it heaps easier to grip and you can turf them before you put the new filter on. That way you aren't getting grubby oil all over the new filter, making it slippery to grip next service. Rule of thumb is tighten the filter on tight with your left(non preferred) hand and then you know you can remove it with your right next service. Cheers for the torque numbers on your vids

you can reach the oil filter by the side ,by the mudward near the tire easily and less burning risk by the turbo or exhaust pipes
@ServiceMyRide6 жыл бұрын
yes you can remove the oil filter through the wheel arch, but you might not get enough force to turn it plus let the engine cool down to warm when draining the oil, doesnt need to be hot!
