On my swifty air I replaced the original bars to once from Bmx (it’s taller). I did exactly same thing because I needed to extend the length of cables. If this video came out earlier would be so great. This would save me few hours. Lol 👍🏻👍🏻 🤟🏻you rock

How about tying a string at the beginning to the cable then pull it out, you'll have a string to tie to, pull it back through using the string as a guide.... My wife and I LOVE our SwiftyONE scooters here in Canada...

I have a huffy shuttle kick scooter would I do the same thing if I what to replace the brakes on that

Firstly - This is an excellent 'how to' video, well filmed & edited! Another suggestion though, would be the following! 1) Take the inner ONLY cable out 2) Grease up a new inner cable 3) Push it through the old outer cable still on the frame 4) Take out the OLD outer cable BUT leaving the new INNER cable on the frame 5) Run the new outer cable over the new INNER cable. - This is the way I do it, when replacing a Kickbike brake cable, which goes all the way through the frame.

Hmm. In my case I just want to replace the inner, because it frayed badly by the tightening bolt. Would the trick above work, if all I wanted was to replace the inner? The outer is just a black coating and it's fine.

What's the length of a SwiftyAIR rear inner cable? Just to know how long to buy a new one and how much to cut it. I can measure this once I get back to my scooter (which is in another village) but what is its inner's thickness?

The cable is 2.2 metres and the inner thickness is 1.5mm.

Good tips but there are two things I would add. First unless you are using teflon lined outer cable housings you need to lubricate the inner cable before inserting it into the outer housing. Some people use grease for this but I favor a good grade bicycle oil as grease can get "sticky" in colder weather. Here in the US there are good quality bicycle oils that come in squeeze applicators with needle like tips. It's a good idea to periodically remove the brake cable from the hand lever, remove the inner cable from the outer housing as illustrated in this video and then drip some oil on the inner cable and spread it along the entire length of the inner cable before inserting it back into the outer cable housing. The other point is cutting the end off of the inner cable is best done with a proper bicycle cable cutting tool. It can be cut with side cutters but this often results in a frayed end so if you use them do the cutting after threading the inner cable back through the outer cable housing to avoid having the frayed end make insertion difficult.
