Any lip 1" or more hit at an angle will cause front wheel to turn sharply & slam rider to ground. Smaller the wheel the more this happens. Less suspension more slams. Broke right wrist 2wice, left hand 1nce. I am old & ride careful . . . . 6 bones total

Which is better a circular balancing board or a surf / roller skate shaped balancing board?

Thank you for the tips! I'm 67 and bought a scooter so that my 3 year old granddaughter and I can ride together in the park. I haven't been on a scooter since I was about 8! I wasn't sure if I should get one because of my aching hip but your tip of keeping the pelvis in one line is something that I'll keep reminding myself of! I hope I can find more great tips that are useful for older riders!

Riding with your feet side by side is incorrect and dangerous! If you stood on it correctly, your feet would have not gone airborne!

Bigger wheels always better!!

There are two other factors that put you at risk much more often than SMALL WHEELS navigating potholes. (1) the centrifical force of a top heavy human body vs small wheels that don't take much to tip over (ouch) (2) e-scooters with a NARROW & SHORT FOOT DECK, causing the rider to ride with one foot flat & one on it's toes, heel in a raised position. This UNNATURAL "one foot on it's toes in an uncomfortable" position, forces the rider's body to sway side to side which increases an imbalance of weight against the tiny wheels. But when the foot deck is wide enough to place the feet "in a comfortable & natural position" the rider's weight is balanced, making it more safe. These e-scooters with small wheels and ridiculously short & narrow foot boards, need to be outlawed. These are deathtraps and nurses are posting videos on social media of seeing young people paralysed and in a coma with severe brain injuries in their hospital. Thank you for this video. This video was uploaded 4 yrs ago, and now 2024, there are even more e-scooters being sold. No one was talking about this when you posted this video and no one is talking about it now. we did these technics in the early 50th naturally without need about any special technical explenations. But nowadays it needs instructions and explanations everywhere.

I've had my Swifty One Mk I, nearly six and half years. And I have never had a problem with it. Scooting with Swifty, really is the best exercise for me, I am Disabled, but Swifty helps me get about easier. I keep looking at other scooter designs, but I always look back to the Swifty site. My present one should last a few more years, but it's time to replace.. it'll be another Swifty One. The Kenda tyres I will miss though, I have mine slightly over the 100 psi mark. Smooth Rides👍

Looks nice but don’t see the point. You need insurance, tax is free and can only ride on roads. Won’t be able to go into town centres, cycle paths and the price is way too high. With an e bike at least you can go into towns and use it on cycle paths with the benefit of some exercise. Compared to a e moped scooter like a lexmoto for the same price or much less makes little sense for me. However if it’s your cuppa it looks nice and niche and handy for zipping around the city.

The rear wheel quick release is not very well designed, the little pocket in which the pin slides is directly downwards so after just one afternoon its full of grit. My girlfriend couldnt fold it back up and had to phone, me and I had to stop work and drive to the park to help her do it. It was very stiff, you should redesign that pin movement, not robust or reliable for real use.

Can we see how it folds up? It looks like an amazing bit of kit, but I'd want to see how easy it is to fold and the folded foot print. Plus can it be charged while folded?

I thought about getting a Swifty scooter but the decks are too high. What is the deck height of a non-motorized Swifty scooter in 2024? Three and a half inches is about the maximum comfortable height for me. My Xootr was designed with a two and a half inch deck height. It was great, but I want bigger wheels so that I won't crash on uneven pavement.

This guy just talks and talks. Better to just get on with the testing.
