Here's how I was taught to do it by my manager when I was doing my apprenticeship :- 1. Remove left handed screw from chuck 2. With the whole drill assembled, place the gearbox in first gear 3. Using either the chuck key or an Allen key hit it with a hammer so that the chuck spins off anti clockwise as if you were facing the front of the chuck jaws. 4. Fit the new chuck in reverse order to how the old one was removed except it doesn't need to be wacked back on !
