There are a lot of different ways to make brake lines and a lot of different tools you need not to mention all of the different materials and fittings used in the brake system.
Flare Tool - amzn.to/3mBUlnN
Deburring Tool - amzn.to/3T5wlFJ
Tube Straightener - amzn.to/3YxFo3s

Great tutorial on how to make brake lines correctly. I've seen others do single flares which are doomed to failure. While I am highly unlikely to be making my own brake lines, I found the video interesting and informative and a good reference on how to do the job right.

What an awesome video, Dave. Wow, those lines on the master cylinder are absolutely beautiful. BTW, here is an idea for applying the brake fluid to the line while flaring, have you ever thought of getting an old-school oil can, the metal ones with the long, thin spout that you depress the bottom of to squirt oil in a small area? I bet one would work for applying the brake fluid, too while reducing your waste and clean-up. Here is another idea for getting your brake line shape prior to bending your lines, you could use some old home electrical wire to perfect your line shape by hand so that when you start bending your line, you have your shape very close to what you need and what will look good and clean.

When I started replacing the brake line on my magnum , I used the 14 charger line, they are the same but the ABS module has buble flare instead of double flare... so I cut it, did the buble flare and use the double flare fitting... didn't work at all, it runned out of thread in the ABS before making enought contact with the flare. I cut it again and used the oem fitting did the flare again and that time it was good... I tough of just replace the valve bloc and use line like they are but they could have changed a lots a thing inside.

Brush and a small pot for lubrication. Save pouring it all over the floor

Yes. Sloppy. Using a brush or (already gloved) finger saves money, time, and doesn't deliberately muck up the shop floor with fluids, unnecessarily.

I'd use a hydraulic oil for lubricant vs brake fluid only because brake fluid is very harsh on painted surfaces hands etc. A little brake cleaner and air clean up after so that the lines are clean.

1/8” solder works best for making a template with complex angles. It holds shape well and can be straightened and reused. I’m considering a turret flare tool. Is the Eastwood really that much better than the others 1/4 of the price?

You shouldn't really have the pipes higher than the reservoir fluid level, it will be a pain to bleed.

Remaking brakelines is a pita, especially when they are ran in hard/impossible to reach places like above fuel tanks, subframes and crap like that. Wiring and brakelines are both high up in my least favorite automotive jobs list.

Lube it by pouring it out of the bottle, onto the tool, bench & floor? No. Sloppy. Very poor example for learning DIYers. If I saw a mechanic run a shop like that, I'd run in the opposite direction. You tossed your hand held tubing straightener in the trash?.......just because you got a bigger, more expensive one? Who does that? No one smart.
