How to Request Wheelchair ? Flight Tips & Tricks by Mamta Sachdeva

There are times when you might need extra help to get to and from your flights. Perhaps you are recovering from surgery but still want to attend a family event. You may have a chronic condition that makes walking difficult. You may have tripped a day or two before your flight, bruising yourself enough to make the long trek through the airport extremely painful.
Call your airline and request wheelchair assistance at least 48 hours before your trip begins. If possible, call earlier. The customer service representative will put a "requires special assistance" note in your reservation record and tell your departure, arrival and transfer airports to have a wheelchair ready.

Good one, much informative , Mamta! One unanswered query though is if the wheel chair assistance is provided at both the boarding airport and the embarking or destination airport. This is important to decide if we may need to pay and get the "Meet & greet" service at the destination for aged people who need assistance.

Gates are determined based on the C type wheel chair using persons???.i.e if we booked a C type wheel chair requirement person the flight gate will be easily to approch. Some flights located very far from the gate and using buses to reach the flight. My question is if we booked a C type wheel chair the above kind of bus travel can be avoided??
