Nice Video. However, same issue as mentioned by Zaky: unsuccessfull. I did not change the pads because they where at mid-life. As I was having the new pads + new sensor, I plugged in the new cable... reset un-successful. Then I plugged the new cable AND a pad attached to it (as it is normally mounted when in the caliper) and then the reset was successful. Then I removed the new cable and the pad, and there you go.

If you get brake wear warning it means the brake pads has gone bad needed to be replaced. Changing brakes pads is a safety that will save your life and others. I know it is expensive. I do easy maintance on my car still it cost a lot to replace the parts.

What when the reset shows unsuccessful? Even though brake pads are new and the old sensor has been properly installed into the pad groove? We tried your method, it works on most of the steps, even comes up to the point saying Reset in progress.. Then says reset unsuccessful

@@GermanyHawksfan the problem was with the sensor...it looked OK but had gotten worn out. There are some videos showing how to check the sensor. I changed the sensor and the issue was solved!

@@GermanyHawksfan the sensor wasn't all that expensive either...I guess they give problems and require frequent replacement hence the company has kept its price low.

excellent instructions, you just have to follow the necessary steps, e.g. BMW 218d automatic transmission 1 all doors closed 2 speed lever P selection 2 unlocked handbrake 3 ignition on (the vehicle does not need to be started) then follow the video when i didn't follow these 4 points i tried more than 10 times and it still says reboot failed

Cheers! Great video! After busting my ass with my dad doing the rear brakes (didnt have a 8mm allen socket to undo the guide bolts, had to buy one. A few bolts were absolutely seized on there, probably the locktight stuff they send it off with from the factory) just needed to reset the light. Thanks to you that was actually easy!
