What an useless video, offcourse this does not work. Whatsapp does not want and mosly can't help you. Your chats are gone. At least they could make it so you can try some passwords without waiting for hours for the next attempt.

Not sure why, but encryption was on and for some reason I've never saved the encryption keys even though I said I did set it up with it. I was transferinf to another iphone when I encounter this issue. What worked for me was I setup whatsapp again on my previous iphone (keep in mind I still didn't reset it) and was able to access to my chats again. I turned off encryption, back up again and voila, set whatsapp on my new iphone with backup.

It won't work. If you don't have the old device, or you forgot or lost the encryption key or password, no one else cna decrypt it. On the old device you can transfer chats using whatsapp setup process, or possibly, but unlikely, support can give you the key stored on old device (provided you didn't uninstall)

How I fixed mine.(This only works if you don't have an encryption key) What I knew: 1. My 6 digit PIN I used to setup my 2 step verification. What I didn't know: my password (I had no verification key) My situation: I backed up WhatsApp a few hours ago and deleted it, I tried installing it and I ran into this problem of me not knowing my password Solution: 1. Type in your number, verification pin. Reach the stage where it says restore and skip 2. Skip it 3. Go to settings> chat> chat backup> select your Google account you previously used to backup you account where it asks what account you want to use to back it up. 4. End to end encryption will be off, click on it. It will tell you to create a new password (don't do it because I haven't tested this up to that level yet, idk if that is also a fix). Create your encryption key 5. Copy it, paste in notes 6. Once that is setup uninstall WhatsApp 7. Install back and reach the stage of restore and skip 8. Click restore and use your encryption key. Let it restore your chats👍🏾 You're welcome 😁.

I can log in again, I also forgot the password, but I can again. The way to enter wa then skip recovery. After entering wa, open chat settings, chat backup, end-to-end encrypted backup, then open your 64-digit code, then just after it appears on the screen shoot. After that, re-enter WA from the start, restore using the 64-digit code. Thank God, I can log in again and all the chats are back. I hope this helps
