How to Reset the Change Oil Light on an 2007-Current Jeep Wrangler Unlimited JK

Thanks! This works on 2015 JKU also. Note: you don't have to wait for the dings to stop, you can mash the gas 3 times as soon as you turn the key to on. There is not a light on the dash, it is a message that flashes on every time you start. Very annoying but now it is a useful reminder since I know how to shut it off.

No. I change my oil at every 6K miles. I'm running royal purple full synthetic in the JK. If I run it hard off-road, or its a real bad winter up here I AK I may go 5k and change it.

what will happen if i put a wrong oil filter in a jeep 2014.... i just did and put an oil filter of 2012 in ajeep 2014 and oil light went on

If you put one on that goes on a 2012 on a 2014 it shouldn't matter. As far as I know the 3.6 Pentastar didn't change at all between those 2 years and all the components should be the same. I would definitely check your owners manual for the correct size, though.

Thank you. 14 jku Real quick. Decide to take wifes jeep this morning, "DING......change oil soon. 1% OIL LIFE REMAINING" straight back home w/oil/filter. WTF. The fiat v6 aint gonna prove itself running it down to 1%. Already way better than any chrysler v6 ive come across though, thats for damn sure. @ least she made 125k. Knock on wood. Actually, aside from my own opinion of its NO Low end torque issue. I'm hearing reall decent stuff about the engine itself. No i dont drive it a lot. And ive learned to wind it up like a street bike when i roll the clutch out. Even worse w/the a.c. on. But..... Yes, compared to my 04 tj, its a Fμ€KIN' highway allstar
