Remembering a time before TPMS when drivers had to rely on themselves to detect a low tire. Scary, now that I think back on it.

I have a 2024 Subaru Crosstrek and my tires were down to 40 psi out of 51. I inflated them to 50 and the light will periodically kick on but once it does it won't go away until I turn the car off.

Same issue with my 2019 Outback

Your tires should NOT BE AT 51 PSI. Check the label on the inside of the driver side door pillar. It'll be a yellow bordered sticker

@@ElectronicDust636 the tire itself says 51 and the dealership technician also said to have it at 51. It was a faulty sensor BTW

@@justinbowen1183 tires do not have recommended PSI printed on the tire. The number you see is MAX psi meaning that's the most that tire can safely handle, not what you should have it at. The owners manual should also tell you the correct pressure

@@ElectronicDust636 if I put it at that level I burn way too much fuel and it feels like the cars bouncing. Normally I put it at 46 due to it being colder outside lately due to hot air expanding. I understand your just trying to help however I asked the technician what he recommended when I got the car and he said between 45 and 50 with 51 being the max and to not exceed it. He suggested as it gets colder to put it at around 45ish due to hot air inside the tire expanding.

I'm not going to ignore it, i'm going to put a piece of electrical tape over it. It's upwards of $500+ to get the sensors replaced and reprogrammed. I know how to use a tire gauge.

I was looking for this comment. I remember when people knew how to take care of their cars.
