If you are really paranoid you can also use a boot program called DBAN. It will remove the recovery partition and wipe the entire hard disc (including the OS). You can also choose how many passes during the overwrite process. Department of Defense's (DoD) data sanitization standard is recommended.

Factory reset will reset Windows files only. If there is a virus in the firmware you will need to download the latest firmware version from the manufacturer and flash (update) the firmware.; if you're worried about this then the only way to be sure if to update the firmware.

I believe some programs do disappear. I remember restarting an Acer that I had and losing all the pre-installed apps that come with it. But, right now, I have a Lenovo and I have already restarted it and didn't lose the Lenovo Vantage App that came with it (I think the NVIDIA one also didn't disappear). So I would say it depends on the Computer and on the Apps that come with it.

It won’t let me reset. No matter which option I do. Cloud or local. Keeping pc or recycling. It starts to download and install but once it hits around 50 something %, I don’t remember the exact number but it doesn’t go above 60% and then it just throwing me into the very first stage when you enter windows safe mode or whatever it’s called. The stage it loads you in when you hold shift and click restart

I believe what happened was along the way one or some of the windows updates files became corrupted through a possible unstable wifi internet connection. I think my I.S.P. is mostly to blame. This is my theory.

I have NVMe SSD of 512GB. The available & formatted space available is showing 477GB in task manager. I think this is usable memory. But, when I am viewing only the C-Drive in File Explorer/My PC, the total space showing is 455GB. There is no partition. This is Windows 11. Another, 500GB SSD (not a NVMe one), formatted & available space showing is 466GB in task manager which I guess is usable memory. Total space shown in File Explorer/My PC, it is showing 464GB & partitions are made on this SSD. But, the total space is showing here is accurate & equal to what shown in Task Manager.
