How to reset your At&t or V-tech handset part 1

I work for the phone company and an elderly couple tried switching to cordless phones and couldn’t figure it out. I too couldn’t figure it out as nothing in the manual fixed it. This was the key! Thanks!

I would absolutely hug you if I could!! A nearby lightning strike caused a surge that "fried" our Vtech CS6829 base unit. I bought a new one, but, I couldn't get the two add-on handsets to de-register & link with it. I saw your video & followed your instructions for each handset & it worked!! I now have a new base unit with three handsets (1 new, 2 old) linked to it! I'm a happy man, thanks to you! 🙂🙂🙂👍👍

Awesome!! This worked on a VTech 17050 extra handset I picked up cheap in an op shop today. Was saying “Out of Range” but now sorted. I had to take batteries out for a minute after following the above steps and then pop it in my home base & it automatically registered itself. Thanks!!

My Old Att landline displays, To Register HS See Manual...after seeing your Video i pressed the Menu/Select (Which Should Take Me to Settings) But Nothing Happened..Then i entered the *7890# That you tell us to enter and it Displayed Registering...then it made That Sound your video made and again Nothing...got anymore ideas...? My 3 other handsets work but this 4th one doesn't, always displaying To Register see Manual...they sure come in handy..let me know,i'd surely appreciate it.

Hi Andrew, Tried your advice on how to reset my handsets , worked great all of my hand sets reset. The problem I am having now is the base has something wrong with it. the power button and the in use button are flashing on and off? Is there a way to reset the base? There aren't any reset buttons and I've tried unplugging and re plugging but that does nothing? I have a AT&T phone model # EL52500. Any tips on this would be appreciated or even knowing that it can't be done would help. I can't help but wonder why this phone went crazy to start with? Thanks again Brad

El52500? I have an el52250. Alot of those answering machines get messed up over the years. Mine malfunctioned my system. So i registerd the handsets to a Cs6114. Hope this helps.

This probably won't get an answer but since I'm forced to temporarily use this phone, I have a V-tech CS6419-2 with two phones. One doesn't work. Can I use the base 2 phone with the main base? Seems charged but no dial tone and won't let me make calls. Plugs into a modem and I'm assured modem is fine. Changed to the newer battery and plugged in newer cord (from 2nd base I never used) What should I do now? Still no dial tone- completely dead.

Or just hold down the HS find button in the base unit cradle and all the handset will unregister.

Will this factory reset any Vtech phone? I have a CS6919-2 and can't seem to get DND off. The pressing and holding the # isn't working anymore to disable it.

If it hangs on "OK", open the battery slot and unplug the battery, then replug. You will get a display that says the handset is not registered. Place the handset in the base and press and hold the handset locator until the display says "registering". It will beep and say registered after 5 seconds or so. When you pick it up it will now say 'HANDSET 4' or 5, 6 whatever number the added handset is.

Seleccione 'Subtítulos', luego, seleccione 'auto-traducir' y finalmente desplácese hasta el idioma que desee, en su caso español y pulse enter.
