Great video! not everyone has money to throw at everything when it comes to repairs. There's great pride and satisfaction in being able to repair stuff unconventionally and keep those greenbacks in your wallet!

I bought some thin sheet rubber at a rubber and gasket supply store to make new parts for my '68 Suzuki headlight/speedo unit.

Great idea. You could definitely make your own. Depends on how picky you are.

How about replacing the original gauge bulb with an LED bulb......possible?
@KeepOnWrenching4 жыл бұрын
I believe that requires the addition of a diode to work properly. I don’t believe those are plug and play.

@@KeepOnWrenching LED - light emitting diode. It’ll work just fine. Flashing leds another matter

I need to touch mine up as well. I'll have to order some matte black touch up from Amazon or somewhere. As always, enjoy the vids! Keep them coming.

my dad has a 1986 kawasaki lulcan 750 vn and I want to restore the clusters. It has some rust on it. I sanded it down to bare metal. It has scratches in it as usual. Do you know how to make them smooth and the scratches to be gone?
@KeepOnWrenching3 жыл бұрын
Just need to use finer and finer grits. Work your way 1500. Should smooth out.

@@KeepOnWrenching Okay! I just sanded it down! It up to bare metal, ill try finer sand paper! Thanks!

cork dries out quickly when exposed to the elements. I'd suggest rubber sheet covered in ArmorAll

Great idea. The foam I ended up using seems to be doing the trick. Gotta use what you got.

I'd use 2 rubber grommets wit a fender washer

That is very bad way of restoring. Look for rubber replacment.
@KeepOnWrenching4 жыл бұрын
30 bucks a crack if you can even find them. Easy enough to replace later on if I end up with one somewhere. For now it works just fine.

@@KeepOnWrenching i imagine removing the rubber cement later will be a chore, but that's the next guy's problem eh? ;)
